I agree that theyre no blanket cure for everything. You can find a bad one and they cant change your life circumstances either.

But they can absolutely help you process your emotions, make you aware of the fucked up ways your mind is hurting you or lying to you, give you more perspective/clarity/awareness, the tools necessary to move foward and just a sense of direction.

If your life circumstances allow you to get help you definitely should. And yes, sometimes you will have to switch around until you find the right fit. But youre for sure better of this way than staying put in your shit situation and doing nothing.

Therapists are not a cure themselves but they can be crucial mentors/guides on your path of healing.

Professional help can cost a lot, be time consuming or just scary/uncomfortable. Its not always that simple but i hope Ghost has the opportunity to get it.

Truth is you have to get yourself out there and give yourself the opportunity to meet people who end up truly caring and fit you well. Even if that means you will make some bad experiences on your path its the only way to find what you need.

Chances are you are either stuck in a rut without motivation and drive to change things (potentially depression) or you are scared/have anxiety of what could go wrong or the unknown in general. Maybe youre just used to only do things you feel like doing instead of doing things you wouldnt naturally gravitate to without a specific goal in mind. All of these things are understandable and not something to be ashamed of.

One of the biggest lesson you can learn is that good things in life dont always just fall into your lap as you live through the same daily cycle. Sometimes it requires Initiative . You have to do something to get yourself towards a better life. Often times it feels much scarier than it needs to. Try to get yourself into situations where people are present with the goal of socializing . Preferably something where you can bond over shared interests to make the start easier. Be nice, dont be scared and be yourself.

And since it sounds like you might still be in school: Every time your life goes through a major shift (e.g. going to uni, getting a new job, moving cities) you get a new easy shot of running into something good.

Dont expect to strike gold immediately and get disheartened if it doesnt work. I mean it could easily happen but its no guarantee. It is a new way of living and thinking you need to adapt that bears fruit longterm.

You may get some "no"s, you wont mesh well with everybody and some of the things you do wont end up being a good time but that is okay. If you dont play you cant win and "losing" is often nothing more than a day you will forget some weeks later.

I can guarantee you that there are many people that would care about you a lot and you would likewise but you are hidden from them hard to be seen.

Edit: Some of this is guesswork. I obviously dont know much about your situation and other factors at play i might be missing but i wanted to pass on some of the lessons i learned on my path and i hope it is at least of some value to you.

As someone who has gone through depression and suicidal thoughts myself i have no greater fear than those feelings returning but not fading away this time. I do not want to imagine what Twisten has gone through if this is where it led him. The severity of the demons he faced compared to mine. Making this choice means that you truly did not see the light at the end of the tunnel anymore which i fortunately did.

Anyways, i am glad to have come across Twisten and experience some of the great things he had to offer to the world. Since i dont know him enough personally to know what would have fullfilled him, i wish he couldve have at least got to experience the Tokyo event as from what ive gathered he would have loved a lot. But it is what it is. Now it does feel wrong after all to finish this post without a goodbye...
