Lotus is very lurk dependent map considering there are 3 sites. You get a first kill, you basically enter the site for free.
And all is left to do is to lock down the site with 3 sentinels. And boom, the bag is in the cat.

I think that's just how pro players utilize viper - they take a lot of map control and lurk, which is the same role as sentinels on attack.

Why split and bind? I think because her wall take a lot of valuable space. For example on Bind, you just put a straight wall on A main, isolate lamps, and take 1v1s. Same thing on A Split, just cover main and heaven. You can isolate duels, wait for rotations, or lurk all the way into site.
