My friend is trying to write a novel esk story, but he is also kinda dumb, so any advice or opinions is appreciated:

Prologue: The first Sin

The fields were quiet.
Smoke drifted across the broken landscape, as a little girl trembled on the ground, her body covered in mud. Her hands, small and shaking, and eyes trained, staring down a demon covered in crimson from head to toe.
Blood.
That’s all she could see. The demon crossed the Line.
The Line.
The forbidden line. the one that separated the citizens of Raylia from the monsters of Vestra. She wanted to scream. But no sound came. Her legs were numb from fear, and when she tried to rise, she collapsed again, her vision swimming.
Creeping.

the demon crept closer. A daunting figure approaching the girl. But then…it stopped.

The girl looked up in confusion, her breath caught in her throat. Suddenly a flash of light radiated in the air, from it a figure emerged before her. A chivalrous aura, with shining armor and uplifting glow, with a sword that cut through darkness like a beacon of hope.

"Stay back," came the voice, cold and commanding.

Stepping forward, the man Galahad, the Vl Bastion of the Sword, with a single motion, he raised his blade, its edge glowing with holy light, the demon laid there motionless.

Four days later, the grand square was packed, the air thick with murmurs. a figure stepped onto the platform, his armor gleaming like silver. He raised his sword high, as the silence of the crowd soon followed.

"Good morning, citizens of Raylia!" His voice echoed through the crowd. "Thank you for gathering on this momentous day. Recently, a beast attempted to assault an innocent child, a demon who dared cross into our lands. But fear no more! For I, Galahad, the Vl Bastion of the Sword, have captured the demon I present to you all today”

The crowd erupted in applause. His voice rose above it unwavering “From today forth, We shall no longer live in fear of these creatures, for today we strike back. This demon is but the first of many. We will rid the world of them, once and for all.”

Galahad turning perpendicular to the demon, chanted triumphantly “Oh holy light give me your power over evil and let me vanquish my foes” With a quick swish of his blade, the flushed demon's head now rolled across the stage, lifeless and still.
