Playing ascent, bind and haven against fnatic is dangerous

posted about 3 years ago

This is a black swan event on all accounts. Insane from Liquid.

posted about 3 years ago

Man Liquid are playing like they have been preparing for this series their entire lives.

posted about 3 years ago

Don't forget... If Liquid win map 1, they lose series.

posted about 3 years ago

That is the most likely correct scoreline. I just thought of one of the more stupid, but maybe plausible ways both liquid & fnatic may qual.

Agree. I hope this won't be detrimental in Iceland. As in I hope they have proper recording/playback setup in the production, so it won't matter in the short term.

After that some actual tools that integrate with the spectator client would be great. I hope the Valorant Riot team has learned from the League Riot team when it comes to demo systems......

Liquid loses vs FPX & wins vs Gambit
Fnatic loses vs Guild & wins vs OXG
Fnatic wins against FPX & quals
Liquid wins against Guild and quals

Yeah, but does it matter? If 100T/SEN get knocked down when they meet each-other in upper semis and they can't fight their way back in through the lower bracket, did they deserve to qualify in the first place?

Why should they get special treatment? SEN didn't qualify with a high seed in challengers 1, so naturally this is a consequence of that. Let's say SEN qualified with a high seed in challengers 1, they would be on opposite bracket with 100T and the winner of the second challengers qualifier would be on the same side as 100T.

They would have to play less losers bracket games, yes, but eventually they would meet and have to fight the strongest opponent in the losers bracket. So I don't get this point. It's a good structure; no NA person should be complaining about this.

This would matter if there were no losers bracket like in EU.

posted about 3 years ago

Does it matter? This tournament has losers bracket as well.

posted about 3 years ago

To think that SEN would've been disqualified without losers bracket... This is why rito have brainrot for not assigning EU challengers qualifiers losers brackets RO8 and forward.

Easy prediction. Better team wins.

Edits: Congrats to the team, that loses this game!

And succeeding.

Can we talk about how nutty sheydos is? His aim is actually disgusting.

The turkish teams have to fight each other for survival only to go against guild|fnatic.. This is some mission impossible shit right here.

posted about 3 years ago

For some reason saying "Turkish teams are bad" gets read as "Turkish teams are bad, because they are turks", prob language barrier.

I mean "turkish" is a nationality, a language and an ethnicity, but strange to presume people are being racist.

Very bad look for BBL so far. Gambit look like they could knock out Liquid presuming Liquid falls against FPX.

This is what I get for saying "leo>turkey" OMEGA_LUL. Turkish fans have some spirit for sure.

This + make Brazil and NA fight with each other for the 2 spots.

Futbolist. The hope of Turkey largely hinges on this game.

GGs, started close, but the skill diff is real. m1tez not so ice cold on icebox.

The last time they won on Haven was on October of 2020. They banned Bind & try to outsmart Fnatic with this Astra comp.

posted about 3 years ago

Well OXG did not ban Haven, they are showing off something they have never played; Astra. And it is not working very well.

posted about 3 years ago

Certainly a likely contributing factor to that loss. There are too many confounding factors to consider the "why" questions, so I prefer to stick to what happened and extrapolate from that for the most part.

It certainly hinges on the regional diff and how great that will actually be; that's the biggest unknown, even with BBL having a close game with Liquid, the uncertainty remains for these two games today.

FNC 2-0 likely. FNC 2-1 second most likely, if OXG show up on icebox|ascent. Other scorelines unlikely, but possible if FNC simply have an off-day & OXG aim diff.

Both teams favor bind, the problem is FNC are the best bind team in EU & OXG have never ran Viper on it. Split is going to be instaban for FNC, considering it's another potential strength for OXG & weakness for FNC. OXG prob bans haven; if they for some reason don't do so, FNC favored.

The two dangerous maps are icebox and ascent. OXG had a close game with FUT on icebox + they won vs BBL on icebox in challengers 1. They also run the viper comp there. Fnatic's icebox has been a little shaky, both wins over Liquid & Vitality were close & they got massacred by Acend. They seem to generally struggle against Reyna there, which OXG can definitely pull out.

Same story on ascent, close game with FUT, win vs BBL. Though with this one, I would definitely give the edge to FNC considering they are also formidable on this map, it seems to have become almost a second staple for them alongside bind.

Unless OXG reworked their playstyle to incorporate Astra & Viper or FNC have an off-day, it's difficult to see FNC losing. It has been two weeks since an official game from OXG, so it is likely that they have reworked some aspects, but may be shaky incorporating them in official.

Who knows maybe OXG have been praccing Haven offline and pull it out after bind/ascent ban. Definitely potential for OXG; FNC are just a tough first opponent with all the momentum they have & how favorable the bans would be for them.

GL to both teams. No doubt in my mind, that OXG have studied the crap out of FNC. Let's see what they will bring.

Edit: They picked both Split and Haven. Let's see how this goes.

Very well played to InG. Korea is getting more competitive.

posted about 3 years ago

InG 57% winrate, VS 93% winrate(their highest WR map)

posted about 3 years ago

Ok InG won their pick. But split is going to be brutal.

posted about 3 years ago

Why does the KR stream play bangers and the NA/EU streams play the same song over and over again.

posted about 3 years ago

This is why I have a love & hate relationship with Liquid. Gg.

BBL viewership: 150k

NA viewership: 600

Edit: Shroud to the rescue..

posted about 3 years ago

I would not mind seeing Turkey represent EU. Think about what cNed did for RYE/Acend... Now imagine there are 5 of them on the enemy team.

posted about 3 years ago

No losers brackets in EU... Good one rito.

posted about 3 years ago

Ok if this goes to Bind, I will be shocked if TL loses.

posted about 3 years ago

I have 0 idea how to predict this. I have a slight tingle, that BBL may overpower Liquid. If Liquid can control them, it should be their game.

posted about 3 years ago

Idk why they play Sova on split, but let's see...

posted about 3 years ago

Gambit really almost won simply by outaiming them, but FPX fundamentals so strong.

posted about 3 years ago

FPX getting aimdiffed so far, except for Zyppan.

posted about 3 years ago

GIVE IT TO ME NOOOOOOOOOOW NOW I WANT IT NOW JUST GIVE IT TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE AHHHHHH

posted about 3 years ago

How many times do ppl need to be reminded that split is heavily def sided.
