No, no this year ! 2024 ! I was saying that with how it's framed, it's nearly impossible to have a good academics roster :
https://www.vlr.gg/372327/allow-t1-team-to-have-a-aca-in-t2

posted about a year ago

Some team already have, Riddle is made of 3 players from ZETA aca.
Also it is useful, for example KC in LoL have scouted good talent thanks to their academy team in LoL, when you want to think about long term, having an aca team is important, scouting is important but scouting become pointless if you don't have an academy team

Don't worry, we have also our big problem and I hate twice mush Germany than I have the USA (Germany is just the Vampire of EU), heart on both USian people and german people still

Not really the same, affiliate team create a weird situation where you kinda subcontract the detection of talent of a structure that don't have the same goal as you. The T2 team probably don't want to lose their good player if they are really good in T2, and it might really expansive to buy them (And if they dont need to buy to force the T2 team to give them the player, then the affiliate programm may be bad for T2 team that sign it)

It's not a race reason, it's something more cultural ! Every American people in a good environment are able ! It's just that statistically they have more chance to end into a bad environment

posted about a year ago

I tend to agree with that, I think if Riot didn't allow it, it was because they where afraid that it would make things unfair for other T2 teams

Swiss with team choosing their opponent at each turn could be so mush banter !

Using brain is fun ! I know you are American but I believe in you ! I'm sure you can use it and have the pleasure to feel what is it to think about structural problem and way to solve them, give proposition and think of a way to make things better !

You think they can find 3 girl strong enough to got to T2 India ?

posted about a year ago

Sounds weird, that mean ZETA can hire everyone in a T2 team, rename it "ATEZ" and everything could be possible ?

The JDG-BLG gonna be really intresting, RA vs NRGkillers

Isn't that a way to show that it's impossible in S4 to have a academic roster ?

Shall we allow T1 team to have an academy team in T2 ?
If yes, should they be allowed to compete in Ascension and get ascended ?
If yes, shall we let the team choose if they can compete in ascension and lose their player in case they got ascended or refuse to go to ascension and let their place for the next team. Or shall the player choose if they want to go to asc ?

With what happen to Riddle that are basically ex Zeta-Academy, I start to think about it.
And my conclusion is that I feel that not allowing T1 team to have a team in T2 is a bad thing, when you are a T1 team, you have to detect talents, and you have to keep them to promote them when you need them, but imagine you are a T2 talent with T1 potential, why would you stay in an academics team that cant compete in T2, if you aim T1 you have to play in T2, and if you are a young talent you will find a T2 team and leave the academy team. So that mean if you are a T1 team, you can't keep talents if you don't put them in a team that will have objective and you can't give them objectives if they cant go to T2 because thats the main objective of a non-T1 team, the next step before going to T1.

We have also to take in account the new rule that allow a T1 team to have a "mixed gender team" in T2, with this new rule KCGC can go to French T2 if they are good enough, and they can even have 2 male in that team (note that another new rule is that a team that qual to GCC go to T2 promo-relo), this rule is kinda weird, because it creates a weird optimal situation :
Imagine you want to detect new player, and you want to find a way to keep them : Main solution is to create a mixed roster with 2 young talent and 3 girls, but if you hire 3 girl just to play premier and hope to qual, it make sense to hire 2 girl more to play GC. So you end with 12 player (5 main roster, 3 girl in GC-T3, and 2girl and 2 males that will rotate with the 3 mains gilrs)
And this raise so mush more questions :

  • Can you create a competitive T3 strong enough with 3 girls ? (They are girl that can qual to T2 in BR and G2G, but it's so hard to find if you want to create a new team)
  • Can you create a 7 human roster with 2 men and 5 girl that isn't to mush disorganize ?
  • Is that solution enough to keep talents ?
  • If the GC roster qualifies to champions, does that qualify the T3 roster because they are 3 girl in common with the roster that go to GCC ?

What are you thought guys ?

tldr, If you are a T1 competitive team wanting a T2 academy team you need :

  • 5 male player that play in T1
  • 2 girl (Or NB) player that play in GC only
  • 3 girl player that will play in both GC and in T3 to qual to T2
  • 2 boy player that will play in T3 to qual with T2 with 3 girls.
And that's a weird situation, because you have to disorganize your T3GC roster in order to qual to T2.

Whow, the 3 Japanese player are from Zeta Academy ! (And the fact the 2 other player are from DFM is funny)
Does that mean ZETA has made a mistake if they didn't promote them ? What will happen if Riddle win ? Zeta will take their player back ? Or it's dead ?

I hate the fact T1 team cant have an academy team in T2 (That obviously cant qualify for ascention)

Full Sense sounded as a favorite to me with Riddle, only 2 loose in regular season was impressive... But... Well... They are in 0-2 0-1 in plyaoffs and about to die, so RIP

It's interesting to see Riddle SPG are 2 potential favorite team that both come from T3/Premier

Data after 2 week

Repartition of the 26 first team in T3 SEA :

  • Indonesia 8 teams (12-9 57%)
  • Thailand 7 teams (8-17 36%)
  • Mongolia 4 teams (8-6 57%)
  • Philippines 4 teams (6-5 55%)
  • Cambodia 1 team (2-0 100%)
  • Malaysia 1 team (0-1 0%)
  • Singapore 1 team (0-1 0%)
  • Viet Nam 0 team (0-0 %)
  • Taiwan 0 team (0-0 %)
  • Hong Kong (0-0 %)

To me the perfect split of T2/T3 would be :

  • HK server (VN-TW-HK-PH-MN) : 8 teams
  • Indo-Malay language (ID-MY-SG) : 10 teams
  • Mainland SEA in SG serv (TH-CB-LA-MM) : 8 teams
(MYSG is debatable, to me the 2 language are close enough to stay group together, but since MSEA don't have VN for ping reason, the place might lack of population.)

Mongolia : If SEA have to be reunited in only 1 big T2 regions, the main server will obviously be Singapore (Since the 2 biggest subregion is ID and TH that are both optimal in SG). In Mongolia, Tokyo ping is slightly better than Singapore, and with the expansion of JP T2 teams and the contraction of SEA T2 teams it would make sense if Mongolia is group with Japan.

TW and HK : The fact TWHK player can play in CN without being count as an import while T2 SEA is now too competitive with the merge, TWHK T3 in SEA may potentially disappear in a near future, TWKH talent will probably pick CN.

Viet Nam : VN situation is concerning, they are really late compared to other subregion, if they are no rule preventing that a subregion to disappear completely to T2 that might happen really soon.

Idonesia : Best T2 region, they have less money but a bigger talent pool, since their population is almost half of Asean they may truly become the SEA powerfull in the future.

Thailand : That the country where the population decrease fast, but they are really good right now, historically TH is the best TH region (it's the only region that once send 2 team in an international event)

SG and MY : Small population, small number of team, lot of money, see how thing will go.

Philippines : Mid region, the population is the one that increase the fastest, maybe a bright future.

Cambodia : What if it was the first time a CB team go to T2 ? Sounds possible right now !

Also if 10 isn't enough, but you don't want to break the usual Japanese regions, Korea got almost the same region system and it just right next to

  • Gyeonggi / Seoul
  • Gyeongsang / Busan
  • Chungcheong / Daejeong-Sejong
  • Jeolla / Gwangju
  • Jeju / Jeju
  • Gangwon (Or a 2nd Gyeonggi team for Incheon)

I admit I don't really know how Japan league work, but looking at what they did on wiki that doesnt really make sense, if they wanting to make a league where team that participate are invited, it would have been better to pick something like, 10 or 12 team that represent one different city, or region like they does in Ireland :

  • Hokkaido / Sapporo
  • Tohoku / Sendai
  • Chubu / Nagoya
  • Shikoku / Matsuyama
  • Chūgoku / Hiroshima
  • Kyūshū / Fukuoka
  • Kansai / Osaka
  • Kanto-SW/ Tokyo-Kanagawa (Yokohama)
  • Kanto-NE/ Saitama-Chiba-Gunma-Tochigi-Ibaraki
  • Okinawa / Naha
If 10 isnt enough you can add some teams in subregion, potentially in Kanto (Yokoyama alone or Saitama-Gunma alone), in Chubu (Hokuriku / Niigata or Fuji / Shizuoka), or in Kansai (Kyoto-Shiga). Japan sounds almost perfect for a system like Irland got.

Yeah it can be pretty awkward the first time you see it, but more time pass and more you become "fluent in rugby rules"

Also, top 3 among 4 team qualify is a nonsense (4/6 3rd qualified it's so weird), to me it could be interesting to have 3 pool of 8 team, with a doble (or triple) bracket system to emulate a swiss round (but materialised with a brackets to make it easier to follow). After 3 round you have :

  • 3 Team in 3-0 (The 3 teams are qualified for quarterfinal)
  • 9 teams in 2-1 (9 teams fight in a play-in game for the 5 remaining places, you can qualify directly the best one, or let play the best team in 1-2 with the 9 other)
  • 9 teams in 1-2
  • 3 teams in 0-3

So we keep 7 round maximum, and every group stage game matter

Not really sure, more time pass and more I loss interest in football, so my proposition probably gonna be shit, but i'm sure some people can find better idea :

  • Since goalkeeper have become more tall, maybe make the goal bigger
  • Penalty area smaller
  • Allowing only 4/5 player in a zone close from the goalkeeper to force team to not pack in front of their own team

Maybe try to think out of the box to solve offside issue, (also really hard) :

  • Putting led on player that will shine when they are offside, so the attacker will know every time when he is good or not,
  • Giving a margins of 10cm where he is not offside (Probably useless if you dont use put LED)
  • Adding a line where while you didn't have pass this line, the offside rule dont count
