ngl LOUD at their current level don't seem like a very "challenging" team besides Less going crazy every few rounds or so.
I mean for their own good I hope someone punishes them for the shit comp, because if no one in EMEA does and they go to Masters with the same plan it's gonna hit them like a truck when they can't diff other teams with just aim and fundamentals. And at that point, it's gonna be too late to fix.
That I agree, though they don't look as good they still look solid, unlike SEN and LOUD. In the end my entire point wasn't to say that Gen.G are shit lol, but to prove that teams can fall off/improve and shouldn't be ranked based on how they played like in the past.
I see what ur trying to get at, but the problem with ur argument is that it's solely based on hopium. Literally. You putting your money on them getting back to their old form, and yes, it's possible they do go back to it, but it's also possible they don't. I respect what they achieved, but your argument relies on just believing in them coming back, while mine is based off of recent results. We've seen many examples of teams being unable to go back to their prime form for your type of argument to be reliable.

Teams change their level, you can't judge their current form based off of performances from previous tournaments. If a team plays like shit, I ain't gonna put them over other team that played substantially better just because they played well a month ago lol. At that point you are rating teams based on what they once were, and not what they currently are.

so for that to happen right now you need:
EG to lose their next game and for all LOUD, FURIA and MIBR to lose at least 1 of their next 2 matches
Basically the way it works is that if the 3rd team from Group Omega doesn't get at least 2 wins their spot is given to the 4th team of group Alpha
Qck has to do with it, but I don't think that's the main reason many think it is. I think it a lot of it is due to coaching staff and saadhak not being in charge of the entirety of the team. If you put a decent duelist instead of Qck they will look somewhat better, but LOUD sometimes just look lost, make many bad calls and overall a lot of mistakes that they weren't making before.
nah, but at least FURIA were like middle of the pack before, never good but never at the bottom either. Now they're horrible. As for LOUD they did fall off insanely, and MIBR were always trash so.
Ngl, if I had to guess riot prob planned for SEN and NRG to take Spot #1 and Spot #2 in group Alpha and then have C9, G2 and KRU battle for 3rd spot, and to be honest when you look at it like that it doesn't seem like a bad idea. I guess they just didn't account for teams to massively upgrade/downgrade and now the format looks wack as shit lol.
As for the LOUD/EG getting eliminated bc they have to play good teams, I'd argue that's what the 2 win rule is for. If they can't get at least 2 wins out of the 5 teams from group Alpha, then maybe they just don't deserve to go to playoffs, as they probably wouldn't stand a chance against the top 3 from group Alpha and the top 2 of group Omega that DID get to beat the good teams from good Alpha.

True, I think even EMEA has to show some stuff on some matches too. But Pacific and China has a very clear gap between the top 3/4 teams and the rest.

Also true, this format would look better if teams that were considered top tier lived up to the expectations, but since teams rn are more leveled the group with teams that were considered the "worst" are benefited. Though teams like FURIA and MIBR would've never made it through regardless of their group. Teams that are performing decently have an easier path to playoffs
Yep, format is shit. EG can go through with a 2-3 record while a team in group Alpha could get grouped with a 3-2 record. The 2 win rule does help out a little bit, but still not optimal.
