MAD Lions' name has been in the mouths of the Valorant landscape for quite some time, despite them never having signed a team. The Spanish organization has long wanted to join the scene and may have found the perfect opportunity.

A story published by EsportsNewsUK's Dom Sacco in early March revealed several issues within Adamo Gaming, with whom TENSTAR share ownership. With hundreds of thousands of pounds in debts, Adamo Gaming laid off several employees. Carl Roderick, Adamo Gaming's founder, resigned from his role as TENSTAR CEO to fix the issues plaguing Adamo Gaming.

Despite their financial troubles, TENSTAR are looking to remain in the Valorant scene, according to the report. Selling their roster to MAD Lions might be the cash injection the organization needs to sign a replacement squad.

Domagoj "doma" Fancev posted a now-deleted Tweet on April 5 claiming he was leaving the organization and promised more information to come soon.

After failing to qualify for the 2022 VCT, TENSTAR turned to the Northern Europe Regional League. Finishing the regular season in fourth, the lowest playoffs seed, TENSTAR finished the playoffs in second, one map shy of the victory and a slot in the VCT Promotion tournament.

MAD Lions are a Spain-based organization who merged with Splyce in 2019, after being acquired by OverActive Media. Currently, the team fields rosters in CS:GO and League of Legends, winning the 2021 LEC Spring Split. They also field an academy LoL roster in the Spanish Superliga.

MAD Lions are looking to sign:

  • Jack "Br0die" Emmott
  • Calum "KRAY" Knight
  • Niko "Polvi" Polvinen
  • Alexandre "xms" Forté
  • Domagoj "doma" Fancev
  • Peter "Spin" Bradford (Coach)
  • Aqib "Akki" Ali (Analyst)
