I'm looking currently at three different iem's
Picked them out from b_medias recommendation list

  • linsoul tangzu wan'er sg II (23.50€)
From what I heared the sound is balanced with an great treble. it has an closed shell
  • Truthear gate (24€)
Sound is supposed similar to the wan'er, transparent closed shell
  • Kiwi ears X b_media Chorus (42€)
    (Big price jump, ik)
Open back which I think allows the iem to sound more natural because it's able to use the air outside (Idk I'm going off of memory)
It has a V shaped tuning from what I can see (base and treble boosted)

If any experts on the topic are around, your input would be appreciated

Open-back is a bit of a double-edged sword in gaming since it is only beneficial if you have a quiet room/home to game in. Open-back will mean better soundstage, so the audio may have better directional clarity, but it will also mean you will hear more of what's going on outside of the game, which can be distracting.

I personally run the Truthear Zero (Blue), and they are seriously good in-game (about £45-50). The general listening experience is great, with a decent amount of bass, but not too much of a trade-off for the mids and treble.

I think if you're getting into the audio hobby, an open-back over-ear headphone would be a good option if you want to test what a wide and relatively accurate soundstage feels like. The downside, of course, is that over-ears are more expensive than IEMs

Definitely check out Crinacle and his list of reviewed IEMs since he is very honest and critical where it matters.

I think I'll first go with the truthear gates
Both, b_media and Crinacle recommend it, it's cheap, and the design is nice
I sadly can't afford an over ear headset just yet, but the truthear gates seem like a good entry point

Sounds good, and no worries about over-ears. I can't really justify buying a pair unless I am financially secure enough to try out a solid pair. Over-ears with open backs are more for a general listening experience or even solo gaming.
