being top heavy is so much better than being middle heavy i was watching lev nrg and its genuinely cinema almost every single round
pacific is unwatchable rn and fuckall is going on in china
emea is depressing rn because fnatic isnt doing well
100%, im not upset about it but this is probably the biggest power imbalance in a region since vct
I cant wait for americas playoffs
Big economy / rich orgs can poach the best talents from other regions (keiko, bonkar etc), access to the Brazilian talent pool (similar to the turkey effect in EMEA), competent team managers actually assemble teams with 5 good players instead of being like NAVI or M8 with 1/2 great players and 3 bums
Explain then why TL HEretics and arguably fnatic arent leagues above emea
fnatic/liquid are poverty orgs compared to nrg/g2/100t etc, the viewership numbers etc in EMEA make way less sense for an org to invest in
valorant is heretics main game so the excuse isnt there, but put simply the team was built for the 2024/5 meta, and the player pickups fell apart as a result of the comeback pickup failing, leading to us making changes mid split landing on koshmaras (who is still a good neon) but as the meta moves away from neon the roster becomes relatively weaker
tldr: fnc/tl money, th bad decisions/luck snowballed
Fnatic/Tl arguably have good rosters on paper in terms of the talent available for EMEA. the game is played on a server so it doesn't necessarily have the same meaning. But these rosters are not impovershed
Every roster TL builds is a budget roster and Fnatic are getting outbid by vitality every 6 months
fnatic are struggling with money atm
tl would be 4-1 if nAts wasnt preoccupied, and they took KC to 13-11 on 3 maps so id say theyre very much a tier above the weaker teams in EMEA
heretics employed a t2 shitter to play neon and now neon isnt used as much they dont know what to do with themselves (but theyre still looking good so clearly even when nerfed theyre good) ALSO theyre not good in any other game so prolly broke
top heavy? I think its been rather consistently fresh. NRG and G2 are the only powerhouse from last gen; LEV and 100t are new addition.
If you mean powerhouse in terms of no other teams can beat them, then yeah, its pretty top heavy.
Like this stage 2, 100t, mibr, nrg, g2 and lev looks leagues better than the rest of the region and seemingly this came out of nowhere
it didn't come out of nowhere though. nrg and g2 were always going to be at the top. mibr is a super team and was always expected to be at the top. 100t was always going to be good, people just underrated them. and lev was the dark horse for the year. so it most definitely didn't come out of nowhere this is exactly who we expected at the top.
100T were mid to bad until stage 2. Nobody underrated them. They clearly worked to make changes and got better.
they were always good. they were literally 20-1 against teams that were not NRG/G2 and their only loss was against SEN, they were never bad
ENVY have the shittiest HC ever and probably the worst vibes - i bet nightz is homesick being with those egos
FUR and C9 GENUINELY need to be slimed out their management is worse than my management of my time

I mean it was G2 & NRG. LEV came into the year with their academy roster being promoted and they came true to their potential as everyone thought.. MIBR and 100T were trying to find their footing with mibr just figuring out how to balance roles with kind of superteam of a roster and 100T with two rookies and new identity with coaches. 100T were always knocking on the door of G2 & NRG but we finally were able to level up and match them toe to toe and MIBR realized what works for them. So, it's these clear top 5 we have now. Other potential teams like Kru & Furia came into the split with roster change, didn't work for them and ended up fizzling out. as for C9 ENVY EG were bottom feeders to begin with so nothing changed there.
Also if you notice.. none of the LEV NRG MIBR G2 100T SEN made any changes to their roster since the beginning so they are our clear top 6 teams where as bottom 6 teams all of them made changes mid season, between splits or even during the stage was being played so they never found the stability with constant changes.
Usually when a region falls behind it's because talented players get stuck in t2 which was the case with Americas last year. Look at how many top teams brought in t2 talent in the last 1 year:
NRG (pre stage 2? +Skuba)
Lev (entire core from lev academy)
100t (vora + timo)
If u want to count FUR (nerve, koala & alym)
notice how as soon as 2 of them get cut their year has turned to shit
