Well its the fact that kaplan only gave zekken the option of him on smokes and secondary duelist rather than primary, zekken himself said that he probably would have stayed with sen if they offered him the primary duelist role, but since they didn't offer that and most other teams were making the same offer of him being secondary/smokes he decided that if he was going to play as secondary duelist and smokes it might as well be with aspas.

And Rob Moore has stated that him and sen management didn't agree with kaplan trying to make n4rrate the primary duelist and only offering zekken the secondary duelist role, but since kaplan had it in his contract that he had full control of the final roster and roster decisions, they couldn't override the decision unless they fired him which in hindsight they probably should've done, but Rob Moore despite not agreeing with kaplan's roster moves gave Kaplan some amount of trust and respect for what he did in the past which obviously didn't end up working out. So kaplan is very much partly to blame for zekken leaving the other being Sen not foreseeing that giving Kaplan so much control could lead to issues.
