Can someone explain why tf m8 need to win over tl for navi to qualify i cant get it in my head can someone simplify it please
Can someone explain why tf m8 need to win over tl for navi to qualify i cant get it in my head can someone simplify it please
bc if M8 beat TL and FUT beat TH then and NAVI win it comes down to a H2H of TH v NAVI for 4th seed and NAVI won the h2h
so if:
M8>TL FUT>TH NAVI>KC
Standings:
What does m8 have to do with all this they are already qualified and navi have the advantage when it comes to h2h against th assuming they will both end 2-3 in their group
bc then it becomes a 3 way tie and M8, TH win the map diff so they will be 3rd and 4th seed, leaving NAVI at 5th
OK apologies that is assuming TH win at least 1 map against FUT, and same for M8 vs TL, if that doesn't happen NAVI get in if they can 2:0 KC
Navi can win 2-0 th can lose 0-2 there is no longer map advantage right so why m8 are still in the discussion
yeah lol I just corrected myself, I don't actually know why M8 is in the discussion then.
Exactly even the only way m8 can effect is by the placement of the teams anyways thanks for the explanation
you're welcome, I was doing a deeper look at their group. I can't lie if I was you, don't stress, navi should get a free ride to the playoffs against KC, bc I don't expect M8 or TH to stand a chance in their matches.
NAVI only qualify if FUT beat TH, M8 beat TL, AND they beat KC. not hugely likely - see #8
The first tiebreaker applied in a three-way tie is "head-to-head map differential", which would be:
TH: 3-2
M8: 2-2
NAVI: 2-3
so in the event of a three-way tie, they are guaranteed to finish bottom of the three.
Therefore, they need it to be a two-way tie with Heretics, as they have the head-to-head tiebreaker over Heretics. The only way for this to happen is for Mates to beat Liquid.
Fk I don’t get it im just dumb where tf you got these numbers fron the h2h thing
The first tiebreaker applied is, if you made a mini-league of the three teams involved, what is the maps won to maps lost score?
This is:
TH: beat M8 2-0, lost to NAVI 1-2. Final score of 3-2
M8: beat NAVI 2-0, lost to TH 2-0. Final score of 2-2
NAVI: beat TH 2-1, lost to M8 2-0. Final score of 2-3.
This tiebreaker is applied before anything else in the event of a three-way tie, so NAVI are guaranteed to be out in the event of a three-way tie.
Genuinely thank you It makes all sense now so h2h map deferential between the three tied teams only
Here’s why: in a 3-way tie, the next most important thing after H2H match diff is H2H map diff
This means that the only maps that matter are in the games the 3 teams in the tiebreaker have played against each other
NAVI 2-1 TH
M8 2-0 NAVI
TH 2-0 M8
So NAVI is clearly at a severe disadvantage in this group right now, because they are out if there is a 3-way tie between those 3 teams
