Valorants biggest region is China, im guessing there probably hella money in the scene, and they've officially been in the scene for a while. Why arent they as dominant as EU is in CS

because our best tac FPS talents all play counter strike, its just impossible to compete

I mean China really hasn't been in valorant for long, like it's really only been 3 years which compared to the decades EU has had in CS really isn't that long. Also in this case China has active competition from other regions while EU there is basically no competition outside of EU which makes it much harder to dominate when you have to compete against multiple regions who all play much differently compared to in CS where a lot of teams play very similar to each other.

Personally I feel like China needs more structure within their region, as whenever I watched China it seemed like it was more like ranked ++ and mistakes are not being punished like they are in other regions. That said I wouldn‘t even consider myself a casual watcher of Chinese val so there might be other reasons I‘m unaware of

First, regarding why the European CS scene is superior, I think it comes down to the sheer volume of competitive matches and the high density of top-tier teams. This creates an environment that effectively forces players to go to Europe if they want to make it in CS.
Secondly, it relates to the FPS playstyle in China. Regardless of the game, there's a tendency towards individual heroism. Players often neglect tactics and utility usage, preferring to rely on raw mechanics . However, that mechanical edge isn't as significant when facing international opponents. This is one of the reasons why I feel the current CN Valorant scene looks relatively weak.

Thirdthere is actually a disconnect between the Chinese Valorant player base and the esports scene; the majority of players simply don't pay attention to the competitive side.
