nrg has been irrelevant for awhile. fnatic has been relevant every year. long term consistency matters too.
If you count nrg picking up the old optic core (bc they were irrelevent before that) they would have been to every champs besides 2024. I think there could be a conversation there
To give you context to how consistent the top2 greatest teams have been:
- Fnatic: 12 international appearances:
- two #1st finishes
- three #2nd finishes
- two #4th finishes
- three #5th-6th finishes
- one #7th-8th finish
- one #11th-12th finish
- lastly, 3 domestic trophies( 1st place only ) during franchising
- PRX: 13 international appearances:
- one #1st finish
- two #2nd finishes
- two #3rd finishes
- two #4th finish
- one #5th-6th finish
- two #9th-12th finishes
- one 13th-15th finish
- one 17th-32nd finish (lock in)
- one intl to be determined
- lastly, 3 domestic trophies( 1st place only ) during franchising
Yeah but most ppl will value trophies over 2nd and 3rd places but nrg still have quite a ways to go.
by this logic, everyone would start saying sen might be the greatest team of all time. people care about consistency because a few good tournaments = flukes for them.
Nope, this version of NRG would now be the best team in Valorant history, beating out 2023 version of fnatic. Best ORG in Valorant history overall is FNC though
i mean..... they really have a good chance to beat PRX.... they're the only team with a playstyle that counters PRX
