How 'good' the team is doesn't matter...
If they're not good enough to qualify to masters (Which The Guard are not).
You might as well be on a more prestigious team with a higher salaray that struggles to qualify
than a top 8 team that can never make Masters + Champs.
If he is on TSM he will have more clout and can make more money than on The Guard.
Plus TSM has more talent overall than The Guard anyway (Wardell, Roza, Corey) they just need to put it together and Trent can help with that.
The ceiling is higher on TSM.
