I have an interesting idea for post 2026 franchise system:

Americas and EMEA stays the same in terms of structure and representation (maybe reduce number of franchised teams and make the league open for tier 2)

Pacific and CN (same idea of reduced franchised teams and open league for tier 2) change up the regions into APAC: North (Korea, Japan, China) and APAC: South (SEA, OCE)

W take?

we finally get OCE rep in VCT (big OCE orgs like PWR might invest and their backed by big youtubers n shit) and finally SEA might actually get good at the game instead of having Korea be our reps at internationals

There isn't enough Competitive Sea and OCE teams for this to really make sense. The only reason that the Sea teams are currently as good as they are is because they have the Korean competition, if you got rid of that the competition level would fall.

Also, China is way to big to really justify combining them with Korea and Japan, it would make more sense to combine the Asian half of Russia, India and the Middle East with China.

Russia is sanctioned. But regardless why I did the japan, china and korea banding was because having a vct region for a single country is bonkers because the region is just heavily underpowered. Yes even SEA isnt the greatest but I feel that with this separation, regional identities might flourish even more. SEA all this time has been playing catch up with Korea and hasnt gotten time to really build an identity. Anyways this is just my thinking

Each region should be treated the same in terms of structure, if riot tries to compensate in the short term then regions will either jump too far ahead or fall too behind in the long run
