GENG in 2025 had the ceiling to beat the best teams itw (PRX and FNC in toronto, NRG in ewc who went on to win champions), they just had a big choking problem and having meteor back would prevent that mental block. Also seeing all the util and agent changes, they could be a very strong team heading into 2026 because they played viper and killjoy more than every other team + kayos flash got a big buff
I still feel like they got robbed.
Fnatic and DRX had similar performances in stage 2 and performed well in Champs. Gen.G could have easily been a contender for a top 4 finish if the mental block wouldnt be there - they were by far the best team that wasnt in champs and I would choose Gen.G over RRQ any day.
still can’t get over how geng lost that 10-1 lead despite winning 18 first bloods
yeah, the toronto group stage geng was looking super scary, i believe they had the highest ceiling of all teams in vct but the mental block led them into playing at their floor level
