based on the replay, the ult came in right as jaw timed out, and only then leaf shot mako

“Play until the whistles blown” kind of thought process. The best move is to never bank on a ref’s decision when the rules require the round to be played out.
10.2.2. Multiple Player Crash/Interruption of Gameplay
If two or more players in a round of a Match have an issue that causes an
interruption to the gameplay that prevents those players from playing out the
round for reasons beyond their control (e.g., client crash, computer crash,
internet outage, power outage, etc.), League Officials will restore the round using
the in-game round restore feature to the beginning of the most recent round.
Interruptions to gameplay that occur after a player’s agent has been eliminated
will not count.
Did they execute the site just to play mind games? Like rewind if they lose and no rewind if they win?
either that or they just weren't sure that the round would be rewinded, so just went for it
