How does this sound?

SEA (including OCE & SA) --> 3

KR --> 2
BR --> 2
JP --> 1
LATAM --> 1
altogether 16 teams

are there any other good teams in LATAM other than KRU tho...and didnt some players leave KRU? so im assuming the region is not looking so good. also korean region is looking quite strong rn so I put in 2
to begin with techinically KR has had the best result of a non major region through VCT 2021. and secondly teams are starting to rebuild their rosters such as DWG (probably the 2nd best korean team) who recently added a top 3 korean jett who can also fill and top 3 korean sova to add to their already existing top 3 jett and top 3 controller. same with ESC where they now have best korean sentinel, top 3 sova, etc. to put it simply, the best korean talent is now joining the same teams. and we still have some free agents unsigned like seoldam, munchkin
No Latam was the better minor region since they had the same placement in masters 3 and top 4 in champs> top 4 in Iceland
though even tho KR had same placements in masters berlin, they were more successful in that tourney (top of group with 2 EMEA teams, and only team to take a map off GMB in playoffs) which means they had better results throughout the year but still i guess u can argue that LATAM > KR. Regardless, LATAM is a 1 team region atm right?? or am i mistaken since i dont watch LATAM games
But they had different teams.
Kru is the only team we saw from LATAM. Australia was the only other good team iirc and they disbanded too
Korea isn't a 1 team region. Other teams are good too just not able to beat VS.
EU -3
CIS and TR - 2
APAC - 3 ( SEA , OCE ) excluding (JP KR)
NA - 2
BR - 2
LATAM - 2
KR / JP - 2
the problem with merging KR and JP is that I highly doubt a JP team will make it through to masters which means Riot loses a huge chunk of viewership as valorant as an esport is quite popular there. and realistically NA 2 slots will never happen, just look at LoL for example. shit region but always has slots
EMEA 5
SEA (including OCE & SA) --> 2
NA --> 3
KR --> 1
BR --> 2
JP --> 1
LATAM --> 2
That would be perfect for me.
I think 5 is too much for a region cuz that means a group would have multiple teams from a region and i dont think that would be fun (like when smb vs acend)
Guys, take into account that EMEA is 4 regions in one, Europe, Turkey, CIS and MENA. It's bigger than NA and LATAM combined.
if its split, fine, but they are one whole region atm, the same teams play against each other in challengers all the time
I think the slots are gonna be like Master Berlin (but with JP and LATAM slots inverted)
Something like this:
EMEA - 4 (EU, TR, CIS)
NA - 3
APAC - 3 (TH, ID, PH, MY/SG, HK/TW, VN, SA, OCE)
KR - 2
BR - 2
LATAM - 1
JP - 1
i dont think SEA will get 2 slots due to the sheer size of the region. also are there any good LATAM teams other than KRU? dont rly keep up with the region. if KRU is vastly better than the 2nd best team , i doubt they will get 2 slots
emea 2+3
na 2+2
kr 1+1
br 1+2
latam 1+1
sea 1+3
jp 0+2
ind 0+1
mena 0+1
upper 8 teams / lower 16 teams
8 groups (1 upper and 2 lowers)
IDEALLY every international LAN should have 24 teams from now with a play in stage
But if they go for 16 teams then it should be
EMEA-4
APAC- 3
NA- 3
SA(merge BR and LATAM)- 3
KR+JP- 3
24 is way too messy imo. 16 is cool cuz its simple, u get ur groups and then go straight to quarterfinals and so on
Yes, LATAM has only KRU, from 4 teams playing the LCQ, the playoffs had 3 BR teams and only 1 from South America
I think your division makes sense, but in the end, that doesn't matter
The number of slots given to each region is barely based on actual strength but on strategical decisions from Riot regarding viewership, growth projection and investors.
