something about this team just makes me happy seeing them lose, they have the ego of champions but the ability of a tier 2 team on an average day.

I don't think it's ego, it's just a south american way of playing, they live the game differently there, they celebrate each round, they shoot bodies and they play like that.
I think you just confused a cultural thing with ego.
