IGL tips

hey guys, so me and my friends are making a team to compete in premier and some local tournaments, and ill be igling, where should i start from to learn the basics as an igl? i do some calling in my comp games but thats it, i dont have much experience in this, im asc peak and still grinding so yes, let me know if there are any tips i can get.

Watch a lot of pro vods and look at minimap as much as possible, you'll understand rotations and timings and util usage and strats

the key to competitive play is to make sure your team is on the same page during the game, understand your win conditions and know how to set your team up for success with your calls by playing to their strengths. a huge misconception about igling is that igls are there micromanaging people telling them everything to do during the round but thats not it at all micromanaging is pretty much only a negative thing, your job is to bring the best out of your players not to control them. the important things to remember are to keep an open mind and listen to suggestions from your teammates, you're the strategic center of the team as a leader but not the only one who gets to have any ideas or strats. its by far the most complex role in a team and these are just a few tiny things to think about just make sure you keep an open mind on your journey of igling and be ready for it to be very difficult

Here's a few tips for a starting IGL

Pre-round

• Get everyone on the same page.
• Default to get map space and orbs, prio orbs on big exec ults like breach, sova, fade etc.
• Once you have ultimates, play around them. Don't default, rather just hit together with an ult.
• When enemies have OP - don't default, hit together just like with ults. Make sure to clear all angles with util while going to a site.

Mid-round

• Get everyone on the same page.
• Pressure enemy sentinel utility.
• Don't group too early, try to finish on 2nd or even 3rd rechargeable utility wave (1:00 mark, :20 mark).

It helps to have a game plan before your games. You can go on valoplant and make some solid strats and make sure your teammates know what to do when you say B split or something
