Why can’t it just be alpha vs omega

I find it hard to believe that they change something that was not even complained about at all. Why the sudden new format, i can’t think of a single good reason for this

ehh I dont think its that bad but I dont like how we wont see some matchups because of this
I think each team should play every other team on the league at least once
