Indians do drink tea without milk a lot of times though.
If you are making any tea apart from your "kadak adrak wali chai", like lemon tea, black tea, green tea, or even normal tea. At least people in my circle drink it without milk.
Well I clearly mentioned "I am talking about majority because exception exists everywhere" in my comment so that pretty much sums up to you comment I guess.
there's so many types of tea wtf? milk is good in some teas but totally unnecessary in others. for example, milk in sweet iced tea sound disgusting, but milk in an earl grey is great.
Yes I don’t like coffee too, but my mom makes me drink it cuz I sleep 5 hours a day

Tea in Asian (east asian specifically) exists in forms with milk and non milk. When you say milk tea, anyone from east asia will default to bubble tea as the assumption (for the most part).
A lot of tea is also consumed without milk like green and red tea. For the most part, tea exists in asian restaurants to pair with food more easily rather than having something with milk to compliment it. You need something to cleanse your pallete, and milk tea does not do that.
