Eg has been improving all the year if u see the maps played in the final eg won the exact maps that had losed against fnc in tokyo's final, they improved their map pool otherwise fnc did the same all the time, staff difference.

lol doesn't work like that when you fail at the most important tournament. lockin doesn't count since it was single elim intro tourney and they didn't even win EMEA. If you look at the two international tournaments where all the teams are at peak form. FNC went 1st and 4th. EG went 2nd and 1st. Fnatic literally choked the year away.

You are right, LOCK//IN was an exhibition event and it will never take place ever again. It has the same value as other invitationals like Tarik Ludwig or Redbull. EG was the best team 2023. Won Champs and 2nd place Tokyo.
lockin was a single elim with a lot of new teams with no protocols, the team that did well are the one who stayed with a core. most teams had like 3 weeks of prac, or around that. i dont count that.
in tokyo every single team was nerfed (PRX sub, EG prac with reformed until literally 2 days before tokyo cuz demon1 situation was unknown, DRX/LOUD crisis, NRG bad form)
champs mattered the most, and when team had their full force fnatic just crumbled.

im an NA fan and have always disliked fnatic, but this narrative being pushed against them is just false
or maybe just could be the fact that fnatic won the previous two tournaments so everyone was watching their strats and VODs. Literally saw that with LOUD. They beat fnatic twice but lost to EG, PRX and DRX they only watched fnatic as their prep the way it looks

loud also had great antis vs EG and PRX, but they had a very well stylistic matchup vs fnatic
