Idk much about how these tournaments work so I just wanted to know why doesn't the EMEA challengers have open qualifiers like NA.

EMEA already has smaller more regional leagues called the VRLs. what that means is, if teams want to compete in challengers, they have to first choose to compete in a VRL, find success there, and then go through a relegation process to re-enter EMEA challengers

find this format way better and improves competitiveness in the regions + way more games to watch

i agree though it puts WAYY too much pressure on teams to succeed within stage 1, because should they pass through open quals, they can just guarantee they're in VCT for the rest of the year

the VRL system does let for tier 2 valorant to be more competitive and have more games tho, both systems work great tbh (EMEA and NA)

yea but if i had to make a change i would relegate 4 spots instead of 2 in the vct promotion so there is a good chance for the new teams otherwise W format.

Different format. Top 10 got to stay and the rest two slots were through vrl promotion

they have a different system where bottom 2 teams go into relegation playoffs vs the best team from each region in europe and
2 teams qualify from that playoffs to reach the groupstage

i think the open quals are from the sub regions like cis, eu, turkey
not sure though

theres too many teams in eu for an open qualifier anyway, last time they tried with 128 (or was it 256 i dont remember) and it still wasnt enough, they denied some teams entry because there wasnt enough space
