TSM Academy Roster to TSM

Instead of going for Seven and GMD why didn't they bring in Harmful and Dcop or Venture to replace Wardell and Aleko respectively. Even if these players are not better than seven and GMD it would be a good chance to build up these players instead of having their main roster change their comp completely to fit these players in.

i don't mind the players it's just the way that they play.
but hopefully, they can learn some discipline, cuz the way they are over peeking and losing rounds is crazy to me
maybe their just having fun tho (might be the COPIUM kicking in)

I think the acad team were trying so hard and you can see that in the way they play today

Seven is a great player who people fail to remember is on 16. He needs to build his confidence and discipline but mechanically he is a great player. Guimond brings a certain level of experience to this roster whilst only being 21 and his teamplay is incredible. This main team does have the capability to be really really good. Also in the case of the academy roster, they are still a team too and being kept together would be in interest of all parties. Mixing and matching players through the main and academy teams doesn't seem like the best plan of action

well said but I feel they all need discipline. the way they over peek on nearly every match is crazy and they lose many rounds because of it

I definitely agree that Seven and Guimond are insane but I feel like the academy team is never suppose to be an actual team it is more for newer talent to show off themselves under a big org. TSM should take advantage of the players on the academy roster to build on them and shape them into even better players.

The whole concept of an academy team is to pick up promising young players who could be upgrades to your current roster in the future. Look at MOUZ in csgo, their 2 best players came from their academy team.

They've had the Academy roster for almost a year and haven't even attempted to bring someone from it to the main roster lmao

yeah TSM is fucking retarded lmao. Also more expensive for the org because they have to buyout other players, gmd was a restricted FA

I'm agreeing with you, I was laughing at the fact they've had an academy team for this long that has had about as much success as you can have in the T2 scene and not brought up a single player.

They need to just nuke the roster and rebuild I don't think the bandaid approach will ever result in becoming one of the top teams again

They are already rebuilding tho. I think the current team could work in NA, but would def get smacked at an international level. Personally I hate the seven pickup. He has little to no impact on the game despite putting up good numbers. The first tournament they player with him, he went like 20-14 but like 9 of the kills he got were exits saving an op or eco frags. His oping skills are mid at best and his rifling is just ok. His util usage is also puzzling because he didnt have a trip in kitchen like 4 rounds in a row for some reason. But he is just god awful. Will, PureR, or even harmfull were better pickups imo.

I'm curious because I'm not a TSM fan and I just watch from afar. What about this team has given you confidence this team can compete with the top of NA? I just personally don't see it. I don't believe in constantly trying to duct tape your team with changes. I think if they fail to make the group stage again they will keep this team together but if they don't make it to the 3rd Masters' group stage they need to have a long look in the mirror and consider dropping the entire team and starting from scratch personally. TSM is too big of an org to go 2 years without making it to the playoffs of a single VCT event.

I think the core of the team has potential, but just need to develop better chemistry and discipline. As you prolly saw, TSM lost like 15 thriftys because they ego peek and lack discipline. The thing is, they are good enough to win 2-3 gun rounds in a row forcing their opponents into a full save but lose because of overconfidence. I think with a real coach, like when they had chet, this could be fixed. One specific play comes to mind when gmd, who is normally pretty disciplined, swung a main on ascent against TSM academy on an eco, without flashing for some reason. He was playing breach, a flash there and he gets 2 kills but he didnt, died, and they got thriftied. Corey is a very good entry, no problems there. Up until the ghost game, Subroza was performing well individually and was calling very well too. Rossy isnt there to frag but is a good flex support and provides good util usage and can play any agent, sova, cypher, skye, kayo, sage. gMd is very talented mechanically and a good flex as well. There is a reason he was the last one to be cut from the GenG roster which was always a threat. I honestly think that if Wardell was still on the team, they def win this tournament and after getting more in game experience with each other could compete with low-mid tier 1 teams. Im not gonna be delusional and say they could be as good as C9

but they could def win a BO1 or maybe steal the occasional BO3 against teams like C9 or the guard. I think they would be similar to an NRG or LG

if acad beat TSM and no action taken

Seven is the best player at the roster rn xD

It's refreshing to have so many flexible players who can aim well with rifles. gMd and Rossy will play anything it seems, Subroza should have always been on primary smokes, and Corey can flex to any duelist. Seven is definitely the least flexible, but at least he will entry rifle (and be good at it). The awp skill diff between him and Wardell is obvious, though.

They got worse when they dropped Wardell.

There is a reason 100t and T1 passed on Seven. He is a ? Player lots of potential, but hasn’t broken through the barrier to be truly elite.
