I mean in master berlin last year he tweeted that he will never take seeding matches seriously because of how the group is divided, now when riot try to prioritize seeding matches he complained about it. LULW

I like the format, it really puts an emphasis on seeding, so maybe teams should TRY in there seeding games instead of hiding strats

Skipping the group stage is ridiculous tho. No other game does this, I don't think, maybe advance further in the group stage but skipping it altogether is too much of an advantage

Not the group stage specifically, but tons of games do let you skip certain stages for winning domestically. In CS:GO, MIBR and Furia are playing to skip the first Swiss stage which is a minimum of 3 games. And in League of Legends, a bunch of teams skip the play-in stage.

But those formats have atleats 3 stages, Valorant has 2 stages and skipping one is just not the play.

Plus, CSGO has twice the teams so it makes sense that the stronger teams skip, but for example both OpTic and Guard are equally in level but only one of them skips groups, kinda fucked up.

riot didn't just prioritize seeding matches they literally made it so you fully skip to playoffs, thats retarded
i doubt any of the players think this is a good idea, seeding should make you be put into a better position to make playoffs but you shouldnt be guaranteed playoffs from it

People that complain about seeding matches mattering are fans of the teams that were hiding strats and didn't think seeding mattered. Strange.

I mean this doesn't have anything to do with the seeding at all. OpTic(NV) came out first of their group in berlin and still went up against NA back to back due to riots shitty format. And its not like OpTic knew they were going to go against the guard as second seed, riot completely randomized the seeding for playoffs.
