Let the FPX games be played online!

Ik it's a LAN but tbh we never had a perfect LAN. There's no crowd and there were matches played from hotel rooms to adjust to the situation but kicking out a team who rightfully earned their place is the worst adjustment Riot has made thus far. If we are not going to have a perfect LAN experience might as well make it fair so the tournament has some integrity huh?

Just let the FPX games be played on an online server where the avg ping is minimal. In that way FPX players will be able to play from home and it wouldn't be unfair to the Iceland stationed team either since they will most likely have the lowest ping to the neutral server. It shouldn't be too difficult to manage either. Imo it would be a much better solution than kicking out the tournament favorites for an undeserving team! Riot always seems to make decisions that is most suitable for them but for once make a decision for the players and the community otherwise this tournament would be no fun.

Wdym? Russian citizens are not allowed to travel, that's a restriction put on by governments not by Riot. Shao and Suygetsu were allowed to compete in the qualis even though this govt. restriction has been on place for a long while

even if fpx players had to play from russia on 70-80 ping that is still way more fair than this. feels so bad for them man

That's what i am saying. I don't think they would complain about having bad ping when the alternative is getting disqualified from the biggest tournament of their val career!

due to covid, teams like Liquid and Envy played online, it's not impossible but the ping would be higher

I don't think FPX players are gonna complain about 70-80ms ping when the alternative is not being able to play at all!

I think they might be compensated with a higher seed or a guaranteed spot next masters

Why don't FPX play online with a server that ping becomes balanced for each teams

Ex: using a server that would bring 40-60ms to both teams (I don't know how much this can desbalance the series, but it's an idea)

It's not hard at all if Riot cares about the players and tournament integrity. All they have to do is plug in Ethernet cables in the stage computers! It's unreal that we as a community are getting along with this horrendous decision and not making a fuss.

I think this sounds like a good idea in theory, but I feel it would just misrepresent what they actually have to bring to the table

It's a lan event so no.

It's a LAN event so they should also have a crowd? NA LCQ was also a LAN event so, should have been played on LAN irrespective of the situation? It's a fked up situation and the best way to handle it is to not completely fk over the tournament favorites.
