Stop overrating players

It literally doesn't matter how good a single player. We are past the point where one player will make you win trophies. If the opponent is good enough and your team hasn't got the reads then GG, yay/cNed/TenZ isn't gonna save you. Literally pointless comparing star players without considering other factors.

That's the point, you can't be consistent without your team being consistent as well cz you will get killed in stupid ways and if not you will have to take bad fights at some point to force the issue and if not you will have to bait all your teammates to make your stats respectable at least, SO, it's a lose-lose situation if your team gets brain+aim diffed.

Yeah that's facts, my point is that a consistent tenz is better than any other consistent fragger

Who's even making this argument, though? Nobody is claiming that having x star player is an unequivocal guarantee of success, nor were they back in the heyday of C9 TenZ when there was a strong consensus that he was the best player in the region.

Comparing star players is, if anything, implicitly making an argument about these nebulous 'other factors' - namely the degree to which any shortcomings in that area might be bandaged over by the miracle X factor that certain players seem to regularly bring. Similarly, having a top star player provides a nice hedge against the unavoidably random nature of Valorant games where any matchup is ultimately a coinflip, albeit one of wildly varying weights.

everyone says cryo>x, leaf>x, trent>x etc. anytime they are farming! May be they just mean current form but people who blame a lose to star player not getting frags need to think twice imo.
