Shouldn't Liquid vs. G2 have been a BO5 since it was the qualifying match???
Liquid prolly would've gotten 3-0'd but still.
I would've thought that since it held more weight it would've been BO5

bo5 rarely worth it, whoevers winning a bo3 is also winning a bo5, just takes 5 hours instead of 3, + quality of gameplay drops significantly after cpl hours

I mean there can be a lot of momentum change that comes with a BO5 a lot more room for mistakes as well as more time to get warmed up or detilt. Its not facts its just your opinion. If Acend v Gambit of BO3 Gambit wouldve won champions so this statement is completely wrong

its not just MY opinion, its the opinion of all players involved, and fans who want to see good games. CS ran bo5's for quite a bit, we know exactly how they play out, almost identically. Gambit should have won champions, they are the better team. point proven

weird i never said it couldnt, i said it rarely happens. congrats at finding an example? my point is proven by the countless bo5's in CS history that went the same way as a bo3 wouldve. Gambit is still the better team

Look at the IEM Katowice final this year. Its best of 5 and even tho faze won 3-0 it took over 4 hours to complete. Imagine that it goes to 5 games, thats at least 6 hours. Players also hate BO5s so TOs are less inclined to make a series BO5.

Sure, but you have to acknowledge that there is still possibility in a BO5 for there to be a win even at 2-0 I just think that a match of higher importance should be BO5

that was mostly because mirage, also the other 2 maps were 16-14 and 19-15 so it doesnt take that long unless its really close maps and there is no quick stomps, I think bo5 should be the standard for qualification matches and seeding bo3, the most different maps the better team will win but the point about quality of gameplay is a interesting although I dont think it drops that much to not consider it, you have to be mentally strong to win championships too
