wsg yall writing this after a 18hr shift sleep deprived n im too lazy to use ai or sum to add good paragraphing
I wasn't really an esports fan back in the ol days of valorant mostly instead just used to randomly play w friends or solo queue but on sum random day i stumbled upon jampii's youtube channel (back when he was still in liquid) and was instantly a big fan of him n later team liquid that was kind of my introduction into vct n all. Long story short this was a few weeks before istanbul 2022 champs n honestly i was like the only one rooting for team liquid in my friendgroup while my other homies were mostly supporting fnc or prx i still remember the liquid vs prx game even tho i was a kid in iron 2 so didn't really understand the util n shi js supported blindly.
Next few months were the offseason n i wasn't really active but man that liquid roster announcement trailer like cemented me into a team liquid fan afterwards i starting following them n watching their matches n shi religiously.
After the 2023 season starts (no im not gonna talk about lockin shut up) first match was against vit which iirc was a close game but we lost but i still kept hope in the team n boy did the next game against FUT prove me right. Also I also became a huge fan of sayf during these times mostly cz of how funny i found him to be also cz he was an insane duelist and i think it was around these times i started to participate on vlr n r/valocomp aswell. Anyways fast forward was kind of upset over the NAVI loss in groups cz i believed we could've beaten them if we had sayf as it was a pretty close match but wtv we qualify to playoffs as 3rd n then beat fnc to be #1 emea n qualify to tokyo n later champs aswell automatically iirc.
Tokyo i was really hyped for them the loss against EG was heartbreaking fs but MAN that choke against NRG was like so infuriating i left home thinking its a ez 2-0 sweep as nats was having a god game and we were v high up n then come back to see NRG somehow came back n we got out of tokyo but yea wtv champs was coming i remember before in platchat n all other analyzings n shi liquid was expected to get out of groups even tho it was the group of death cz LOUD n DRX was having internal issues n we alrdy played n defeated NAVI several times but BOY OH BOY that game against NAVI was close i was thinking yea we should sweep loud pretty easy n MAN we got fucking demolished but wtv was rooting for FNC to win but EG won it hated prx loud back in the days so didn't really care.
The next coming offseason was like the worst offseason for me ever cz like i had v high expectations n from what i knew about team liquid they are like one of the richest orgs itw so i thought yea if there were issues between redgar n sayf remove one of them maybe remove soulcas even tho i was a big believer in him but like he was underperforming a lot tbh n also change the coaching stuff if needed but instead they bought in some bugdet T2 roster from APEKS w enzo mistic n keiko so i was somewhat confused but i remember sideshow gassing us up in some episode saying how the team should have really good chemistry and stuff also keiko was rlly insane as a T2 prospect
BUT MAN THE 2024 SEASON WAS HELL
FIRST WE LOST TO KOI IN KICKOFF n i was like ok wtv also was really excited to see KC n TH be good after being ass in 2023 season so imma skip over this masters as liquid didn't qualify also it was kinda mickeymouse as iirc sen won n i was a big sen hater cz of how annoying sen fans were n also found zellsis n his please buy the sen bundle really cringe aswell.
Anyways stage 1 started n tbh ion have that much memories of the team except that we had like a 3% chance to qualify to playoffs n i was spreading hopium everywhere n somehow the delulu worked n we qualled to playoffs but then didn't win against FNC
And stage 2 was rlly trash aswell except a kinda dominating win against KC somehow iirc we picked icebox w keiko reyna or sth
So that was 2024 overall my worst year as a vct fan mainly cz: liquid was bad, apac won a trophy i miss calling them assific, and sen won a masters aswell overall rlly depressing year w even Ch0na sneaking in a champs win
But then 2025 came and tbh this was around the period i started to think about stop being a liquid fan as they picked out a budget roster once again but did drop most of the problems but i was still frustated and stuff also this was the time they dropped jamppi n i was extremely sad as he was the reason i started supporting team liquid in the first place but idk WHY idk HOW but i still believed in them n once again spreading liquid propaganda wherever i could
Kickoff came we lost against FUT in our second match n this was around the time the team liquid GLUE meme was starting to spread idr but i started losing hope but then we first won against APEKS i was like yea alr weakass T2 team THEN we won against GIANTX n BBL whom iirc were really gassed up back in the days heck we prolly even 13-1ed one of the teams so like i was back on my prime TL dickriding days and all i remember is somehow against all the odds we managed to snag a ticket to masters bangkok n boy oh boy i was stoked as fuck. That was around the time I started to believe in lohan and yao as the goatiest coaches itw.
Anws the rest yall know another stage we perform good we go to the masters go out 1-2 tbh we did fight off against like top 4 opponents in some of the deciders and ofc visa issues for nats in one of the tournies anws hope w the new roster we can do sth in 2027 loved this team from 2022 still loving this team will for however more years im alive idk why man cz shi is depressing supporting a avg ish team w mid results but like everytime i think about it hey atleast we are qualifying to internationals and remember the dark days of 2024.
