Optic playoffs?

I am really confused why Optic still can't make the playoffs. If they lose to Knights they go 2-3 and if Rise wins their match, Rise will also have 2-3.
But here is where I am confused, The round diff for Optic currently is +16 and for Rise is -21. How can Rise get a better RA/RF than Optic?
Plz tell me where I'm going wrong in my understanding, Thanks a lot.

If there is a two team tie, the tie breaker is the Head to head match, meaning the team that won their match gets to qualify and Rise beat OpTic.

round diff doesn't matter. the team that won in the head-to-head match goes through to the playoffs.

round diff is not the only tiebreaker
If there's a 2-way tie the team that qualifies is the one that won the head-to-head, rise beat optic so rise qualifies.

Tiebreaker looks at head to head before round differential I believe

Thanks for the clarification. I thought RA/RF was what determined a tiebreaker. Kinda useless stat no?

This group stage format is pretty shit tbh, we have an entire group that has already qualified and is playing for seeding. And then group b has rise playing for qualification against a team that has nothing to play for. And optic are also playing for qualification against a team that already qualified in a game/meta changing patch with less than a week to fucking practice. IMO riot fucked this tourney up really bad.

Why are you blaming riot for the things happening in groups. Group A are all all qualified cause 100T fucked up hard and the other group is happening cause NRG choked, OpTic threw first match and Knights/V1 are stronger than imagine. In the end the stage format is not to blame.

All we can complain is Riot's decision to play the last week in the new patch.

Because shit like that is bound to happen in a format like this. In a normal bracket teams like nrg or eg wouldn't even be playing, its just stupid. All I'm saying is I think brackets are way better than group stage format. Its more entertaining, and easier to follow.

There is gonna be a bracket after group stage. Groups stage allows more teams to actually play, and also allows teams to not play an all in in 1 or 2 weeks, this way you ensure teams learning and improving on the go, it's also more entertaining since we can see an overall of all teams and how they play.

And if you dont like it, Playoffs is a Bracket so it's exactly the same.
