It lack awareness of the casual that there an esports scene which exist
Lack of audience
Lack of Third Party Event throughout the year

The first two are something that will in come in time. The only thing Riot can do is to encourage third-party events.

Yeah most casuals dont even know that valulrant has a pro scene, and most of them who do prolly still think TenZ is the GOAT in valorant

The crazy thing about this game is that Tenz isnt playing. If you are a real VALORANT fan you would know Tenz is literally the best player of all time. He is a GOAT. He is my reason to wake up in the morning. No one can compare to the skill level of Tenz. This is pro play? No its not, because Tenz isnt here. Sentinel supremacy reigns in VALORANT.

Third Party events bigger than Masters/Champs will kill the scene and only regions with bigger prize pools will grow

Nah, CS is doing just fine and it has plenty of big events, major is still regarded as THE EVENT that everyone wants to win though
The current state of valorant is a joke, literal top teams play for a prize pool that they get paid in one day as a salary lmao

CS is not doing fine CS is only big in EU meanwhile Valo is doing much much better globally for example SEA JP SA KR NA maybe CN too in future out off all these regions besides NA all regions were weak in CS as there was barely any investment in CS but in valo many international orgs are investing in other regions aswell

the point is not good or bad the point is there IS a local Scene for all regions which is not true for CS

It's a bad argument, though.

CS has a massive following in Eastern Europe, where it really doesn't have much competition. It's massive in Brazil and hasn't really changed even with Valorant.

Sure, it's not global. But it has a loyal and so far unchallenged viewer base which is arguably just as important. Saying CS is "not doing fine" when it consistently pulls record-breaking amounts of viewers is incorrect.

The argument would be that CS's potential is lower due to a lack of worldwide fans in big regions (APAC, and even NA to an extent), not that it's in a "bad position".

Having fans worldwide is a massive advantage that Valorant has, but is not necessary to be a successful esport.

lack of audience, as in lack of live viewers in LAN events?

I think that's a non-issue, tbh. Since it's a riot-hosted and produced event they'd much rather ensure safety standards are met rather than possibly risking PR. Especially since multiple players got covid in Champs, despite being quarantined.

Either way, that should (hopefully) no longer be an issue later this year, or next year at the most.

Larger third-party events are already confirmed to be encouraged and possibly even supported in the last quarter of this year, too. The argument still exists that these events will not feature the best teams due to a lack of VCT-related incentives, but I think it will be balanced by teams making roster moves wanting to gain experience in the now extended "off-season".

I can't speak for the casuals' awareness. Compared to esports-heavy titles like LoL, DOTA, or CS, I think the percent of casual players who care about the competitive side is definitely lower, but that's a result of the game's recency. The champs music video has like 25 MIL views, so I imagine many players are at least aware of it, but don't care to watch it.

If anything, increased viewership numbers across the board really only indicate steady growth for the scene. NA,EU, and APAC have all had 100k+ peaks, which is a massive improvement over this time last year when only NA had those peaks.

That Awareness could be solved by Making an Esports Section within the client I heard they are working on that

Here in Brazil I'm pretty sure there's a good awareness of the pro-scene.
During Champs and the whole zombs incident, I was playing ranked and I send on /all "fuck zombs and fuck sentinels" and everyone on the game knew who was Zombs and sentinels.
When there is a game going on and I'm playing ranked, I always try to talk with my team mates if they're watching too and good chunk is.
I think it is mostly because a good chunk of the most famous streamers either are pro players or are involved with the pro scene in some sort of way (watch parties, attending to the official casting crew)

I do admire the amount of CSGO events that happen per year. Pardon my lack of knowledge, but even their smaller events attract Tier 1 teams (small csgo events have much larger prize pools than small val events, to be fair). I’m sure there’s a balance to be found between the two.

For example, the Pro League allows for so many more games than a VCT season.
