The meta was so good after champs 25 too, you had fast aggro double duelist teams like drx/prx, and slower methodical double init teams like g2 nrg
didnt G2 reinvent the wheel before champs? or was it in kickoff i remember i saw G2 playing like crazy folks and it was the death of their roster right there
That was kickoff, babybay jaw double duelist, but it only worked because babybay was good waylay/yoru, he’s not actually a good entry
They still played solo duelist in champs
11.08 was ridiculous ngl. I thought maybe it would force teams to pick and choose carefully about what is face checked and what is cleared by util, but we didn't nerf the duelists or Omen enough to even make that the case. Instead everything is trapped by flashes or full fought for at the start of the round, making the game extremely streamlined for every team. That on top of ruining team identities by requiring two duelists, stun unification killing agents for no reason (and buffing Neon), Omen STILL being extremely broken to the point where not running him on every map is ridiculous, cooldowns making the average game so much less fun... I wish I could just burn this patch down to the ground it was so horrible. At LEAST the changes made to spray patterns was a good change. But that's it.
Oh and ALSO sentinels DIED this patch which only made duelists so much stronger. I truly believe if DRX ran their yoru waylay neon BS at kickoff they'd have won Santiago. They're just 2 events too slow.
