“I want to seriously address the issues that have been a topic of concern to everyone recently. First of all, I would like to apologize to the fans who have always supported us. I know our failure to make playoffs was a disappointment to everyone. Your anger, criticism, and even harsh words I accept and understand but competition is competition and privacy is privacy. The rumours being spread online recently have been more and more outrageous to the point that it has seriously affected myself and my friends and family around me. In terms of my private life, I will only speak on it this once and not fall into the cycle of repeatedly justifying myself in the future. It is not that I am unwilling to communicate but some boundaries should not be crossed repeatedly. First, regarding the rumours of me “not returning home”, me and my girlfriend’s birthday happen to fall on the same day of August 9th. Her hotel happened to be right next to my training hotel so that night, after training (between the evening of August 9th and midnight of August 10th), I went to celebrate our birthdays with her and ate some cake. After celebrating, I returned to the hotel I stay at as a player. I did not stay out all night. The timestamp on the photo taken was midnight exactly on August 10th. Those who do not know may have thought I went out the night of August 10th but in reality I went out on the night of the 9th and returned after we celebrated our birthdays. Second, regarding the issues of recently being followed and harassed, I have indeed been quite troubled by this recently. Everyday, there will be extreme fans waiting downstairs to follow me. As soon as I go outside, there are people taking pictures of me. Someone was even waiting for me in the elevator. During the competition, I essentially had no privacy to speak of. People even bought my personal information on the dark web. My calls and texts have been repeatedly spammed. People have followed my car, followed me during personal plans, and even followed me to Shanghai after I flew there. They have tried to follow me to our training area and even to my home, hoping to get my address. With our results being far from ideal, I sincerely accept any criticism as that is the responsibility of a pro player but I cannot pretend to ignore the malicious rumours and false accusations that have brought harm to my family. On this topic, I will only speak this once and will not respond to these things in the future. I hope that everyone’s attention can return to the competition itself. Finally, I am truly grateful to those who have accompanied us all this way. I hold all your support in my heart. We will reflect and adjust as we need so that we can repay everyone with a better performance next tournament!”
If this is what some DRG fans are capable of, imagine the crazy shit that a small portion of the several million insufferable EDG fans can do. EDG fans are hundreds of times worse than PRX fans
