Why Pro valorant feels stale

I would argue that Valorant has been in the same meta for almost 2 years now, and that Riot doesn't want to fix it and it is an entirely self created issue.

For the past couple of years (and some on and off based on meta), comps have looked incredibly similar. There is always a:
Flash duelist - yoru, phoenix
entry duelist - waylay, neon, raze, Jett
Info init - skye, sova, fade
smokes - probably omen, let's be real
senti or senti type - sentinels+viper

Now, I'm not saying that double duelist isn't fun to watch. There are a lot of fun clips and highlights that come with a hard attacking style, and a very skirmish heavy game. Look at Lev, NS, PRX, etc, who all are skirmish based teams who have really good fundamentals and just are great aimers specifically. However, my problem is that the way valorant is constructed at the pro level doesn't allow for any agent diversity, not in terms of agents, but in terms of fundamental comp ideas. Flash inits specifically show this problem clearly, IMO.

Why would you ever use breach or kayo, in the past 2 years, when you can just pick phoenix, or pick a yoru? You get the ability to have flashes, and then with the way you use util, you're now able to actually fight with that util compared to breach/kayo who give you a favorable fight, versus a 2v1. With setup agents, you get a 1v1 on site with help, but with a flash duelist, you get a 2v1 on site, but with worse util, so why would you ever choose to take the 1v1? The only times these agents show up in the meta is when the maps are constructed in a way where you won't be able to reasonably make the util of a flash duelist work (ex. corrode, where you can't get phoenix flashes behind back of B site, so you take a kayo to flash all of site).

This lack of power in util means that teams now are forced to play a skirmish heavy style even when it doesn't suit them, and teams that would love to play a more control based game are just unable to do that, because flash duelists provide all of the benefit of having a flash ini with the added ability to fight off their utility. There is no downside to these agents other than the way the maps are constructed, so now everyone is forced to play this way, and this means every team is essentially playing a very similar style. Yes, there are a bunch of ways to play the game within this general idea, but my personal opinion of a TAC FPS is that there should be more value given to a team if they're able to play the map well, and manipulate rotates and play the mid rounding game, when right now, the power is so heavily allocated to skirmishing.

I think that the current meta would be great if we killed omen's flash, to be honest. Having an omen blind allows for the niche that setup initiators often fill, taking vast amounts of space for a small period of time with one piece of utility, to be allocated to a smokes character, which then completely removes the need for having this agent in your comp in the first place.

Could be talking out of my ass right now, and I probably got a decent bit wrong according to you, but I hate the lack of value right now in mid rounding and playing the Tac part of the Tac FPS well, and feel like the game is at such an imbalance right now. LMK if I'm braindead and why aiming being valuable is good for the game, but that's just my take

Anyways, riot's balance team is horrid for having 0 communication about anything and making menial changes at best, which do nothing for the game until a masters is over and they make their 1/4 meta changes in a year, if that.

yes, but then why would no one run a similar style to champs
neon is heavily nerfed, yoru is a lot worse, so why is everyone forcing phoenix and an entry duelist?

Sentis are fucking useless mate, duelist pressure is very strong and Pheonix ulti is just another player game is very aim heavy rn

ehhh i mean yoru/waylay was def the strongest comp in that meta, it was just discovered too late to be commonplace

with the pullout delay on waylays hinder and the current yoru timers i think the meta would be fine
