Im genuinely curious why an eu team cant win anymore ever since fnatic. At this point it isn't coincidence anymore. Is it lack of X factor players? lack of shooters? I miss fnatic on stage they are the only eu team with aura

best teams get bad practice because the region as a whole is terrible
then they make grands from lowers and their shitty ass map pool isn't enough to win
Bad luck + choking tendencies. We constantly get the fourth pick in playoffs for the first seeds, harder sides of the bracket etc, and when it comes to the finals we just throw it away. 24 Heretics and 25 FNC just couldn't get it over the line, three of those four finals lost had a 1 map difference. Three maps needed to be won for the region to have an extra masters and two more champs. In reality the margins are razor thin, we just landed on the wrong side

This is a poor take ngl Americas was pretty awful for most of 2025 and yet NRG still managed to win Champs from uppers
It was literally just G2 for 90% of the year

brother picks don’t matter, you’re not going to be the best team in the world if you don’t win against every team, and you won’t win a masters or champs if you’re not the best team in the world

ok sorry the level of play in emea is high and yall are just consistently unlucky

That just isn't how the game works at all. Valorant's skill ceiling / snowballing issues make it more difficult for teams to have a huge skill disparity between them. This is not CS, we do not have a team that will go 30 games unbeaten. Even if you are the strongest team in the world, and you can make every game a 70/30 in your favour, it's a mathematical fact that eventually you will land on the 30 side at some point and lose. Now, if you are dealt a hand containing circumstances that decrease the gap between you and the opposing team, your mathematical chance of winning also decreases. One of these circumstances could be getting the fourth pick in playoffs, or landing on the hard side of the bracket - like happened to LEV/PRX/TH/VIT at London.
This is why LEV's win is the single most impressive win in all of franchising. Despite all of the circumstances acting against their favour, they won it all, and proved themself as by far and away the best team. Now imagine how much easier it could have been for them had they been picked one team early in FUTs place and had a run of EDG/XLG/PRX/PRX with a double map ban, longer rests, and more time to practice set strats.
The best team does not always win due to the fact that games are not predetermined. There is always a chance your opponent outplays you, and these factors that increase the chance of your opponents doing so obviously decrease the chance of winning a tournament. If you are interested in good faith conversation instead of just rooting for region A over B you will understand this and accept it.
they are unable to move on from the slow lurk meta of 2022-23
while the meta ever since has been more of a W gaming.... and americas and apac have adopted it really well....
even china has learnt it a bit
emea clings to the old playstyle which just doesnt work anymore
