https://www.vlr.gg/event/2953/esports-world-cup-2026-americas-qualifier/stage-2

look at how they paired the Upper Semifinal Matches and Lower Round 1 matches to make sure that the Upper Semifinal Loser plays on the same day as the Lower Bracket Winner who will face them.
most fair format.

also no double map ban in Grand Final of the main EWC tournament (CINEMA)

least mickey mouse format for sure. everyone must agree to this even if u hate EWC.

Well there is no double map ban in grand finals cause it's single elim format. Just my opinion but double elim format>>>single elim format for esports.

Also if it's double elim format there should never be any sort of advantage or equality for teams in loser bracket.

how is it single elim if theres lower rounds and u have to lose twice to get eliminated

he's taking about the main EWC tournament being single-elim

I prefer single-elim since seeing a fair grand finals is better than seeing the upper team have a guaranteed win (unless your G2) every time nowadays in VCT.

i kinda agree with you, though i want the map ban advantage to remain; maybe upper final being a bo5 to decide who gets ban advantage would be better than bo3

Yes Upper Final being a bo5 would solve everything

id be 100% fine with double map ban in grand final if upper final was less flukable (by making it bo5)

the main event was single elim last year

AND the upper semifinals and lower final are all bo5 (all qualification matches are bo5)

this is actually cinema

VCT should take notes

upper and lower part, i agree since it is more fair. for gf not being double ban advantage, i disagree since upper team deserves it
