The SEA region is now made up of Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, and a bunch of SA countries, such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc.

Countries like Brunei and Laos also sometimes compete, but they don’t have their own circuit.

if they combined no JP is getting through = a huge loss of viewership

They could still combine them partially

Like combining them just for LCQ spots

They do have combined LCQ spots, APAC LCQ is now APAC South LCQ (SEA + SA + OCE) and APAC North LCQ (Korea + Japan)

Look, for the LCQ North it has KR and JP while on LCQ South has SEA, SA, and OCE. The difference in country is just unfair. THey are favoring the japanese country where they didnt show good outcome in international VCTs

Bro even if they combine and give 2 slots...
1 team from korea and 1 from sea will qualify.
But even if they divide the same thing happens right? And if they divide they get more viewership from jp as there will be more Jp in n apac lcq.
Same thing bro...if it's combined or divided same results

well I base it on the performance of their region. There should be no bias when it comes to competitive scene. If you are a pro player, you will feel unfavorable. Competitive fair scene > viewership

its too early for now. the player base in korea is too small so more amateur teams need chances to compete in vct so that more talents could be found and more orgs to participate. compared to japan, there are barely no org that can make a pro team nor there are a lot of international level players in korea. If two regions combine all the amateur teams will be stomped by japanese & korean pro teams ( and there will be less opportunities for orgs to make teams and talents to be found. i dont even know what im saying but just know that i am not able to explain my theory i just want to say its too early for now

huh?? JP region didnt out good outcome in international VCTs while both SEA move to playoffs in champions. Riot are favoring the japanese region as they put a slot in them though they are not well good. And in LCQ North has 2 countries (KR and JP) while in LCQ South has many countries ( SEA, SA, OCE). Both LCQs fight for one slot. Just look how many country are fighting for one spot in north and south. It is just unfair. SEA is a unfavorable region and they are an international competitive team for their results in Champion. F for my fellow SEAs

I totally agree with this Japan and Korea(to some extent) keeps getting special treatment from RIOT if they didn't have a direct qualifier I'm pretty sure SEA teams will destroy Jp/Kr teams in a combined APAC qualifier

DRX would still claim at least one slot in an APAC qualifier, don't know if that's an unpopular opinion or not though.
Northeption also proved to us what JP is capable of, while on LAN, the experience of Korean teams will show through imo, compared to the younger SEA teams (like FS), who will take a little bit of time to adapt to the LAN environment.

Anyways, the JP and KR VCT hasn't even started yet, so at least relax until you see them actually play :<

DRX I agree but the Japanese pro scene is literally surviving on Korean imports are still doing a bad job Internationally also since they import Korean players anyways Japan and Korea should have been single qualifiers

160k viewers (PEAK) 80k(average) where do you get your stats from that its 400k ALSO VCC gets half the viewers Japanese Challengers got so by that logic South Asia should get direct slot in Masters and Champs?
