cuz their team comp is internation, if the majority of the players are from one country it will show the country name(like gambit have 5 russian players so it says Russia or LDN UTD have 4 Lithuanian players it says Lithuania) if there is no majority it just says “Europe” i guess

Ukraine and Latvia are European countries, bud. Russia is so large it doesn't fall into Europe or Asia.

Geographically FPX is a majority European team. However, they play in the CIS region, which is a sub-region of EMEA -- a collection of regions divided up because it's so large.

CIS, they have ange1 and shao who are Ukrainian and Russian respectively, and with SUYGETSU that makes them 3/5 CIS.
There’s an argument for ardiis to be included in that count but it gets a bit political

Latvia is in EU there is nothing political about it, Ukraine is political they are not in EU or CIS, They are basically at war with CIS leader Russia, so it might even be offensive to call them CIS. But tbf there are no countries specified by Riot who is where, any EU team can play in TR or CIS qual or vice versa, its not against rules.

You are confusing European Union with Europe, it's a geographical matter not a political one

EU or CIS are not geographical, you can find CIS and EU countries on every continent except Australia.
Also I was talking about political problems regions like EU or CIS bring up and Valorant doesn't want to deal with them, that's why there are no hard locked regions any team can pick any region as long as they are from EMEA. So the only way we can decide if team is EU or CIS is using real life examples as Riot doesn't tell us.

Most of CIS in Europe. Generally CIS is considered a subregion of Europe because only small minorities are outside of it. But I guess most people would consider them different places because different qualifiers.

The only reason there is an EU, CIS, and TR is because EMEA is so massive with so many teams. People just like to troll with the whole "Russia isn't EU thing" when Gambit is shitting on NA and they need copium.
