What’s your top 5 chokes/chokers in history? Here’s my top 5:
- Persian Empire against Alexander the Great
- Great Britain 13 colonies lead
- Vietnam War
- Faze Boston Major
- Chovy
What’s your top 5 chokes/chokers in history? Here’s my top 5:
Carried by disease + France fighting in napoleonic war tbh. Also did they really win considering how many reparations they had to pay
Nah but chovy is considered the best player for 3 years straight with an avengers level roster
Not really, more like a badly timed knee injury for Curry and an all time horrible performance from Harrison Barnes. Still an all time choke regardless
dray had more points, assists, and boards than klay and steph combined in that game 7 its honestly a miracle that it was even close
Steph was on his last legs after that re-injury in game 7 of the WCF. Klay got no excuses, he’s unironically kind of a choker in the finals. Only good finals performance from Klay was in 2019 which was ruined by an ACL tear
USA never had a chance in Vietnam after people found out what LBJ and Nixon were doing in there
Biggest choke had to be Siege of Vienna
Another top tier choke is Battle of Waterloo and also Battle of Marengo
I’ll give you Marengo but Vienna was just a failed siege, a Napoleon would’ve lost against the coalition even if he won Waterloo.
After Battle of Waterloo he could've easily used the cav to rout the armies, then quickly regroup, getting more of his marshals back, then start a decisive campaign across Central Europe and sue for peace.
Another choke, you can possibly count the Great Northern War, Sweden already capitulated Polish Lithuanian Commenwealth, and had Russia by the throat, until they marched to Moscow during the winter...
Lastly I want to say that an additional choke is the War of 1905 or Romania joining WW1, like they were expecting to push further after the Brusilov offensive, but then they immediately got pushed back hard and had to sue for peace
That was one of many coalition army. There were other armies all around France, and France didn’t have the manpower or finance to recuperate their losses, so a campaign in Central Europe was impossible
Ik that was one of many, Austrians had 600,000 troops in total in the Italian theatre of war, Suchet only had around 130,000 troops, and yet he managed to stop their advance for some time.
The only reason Napoleon failed as a whole is because most of his best marshals had either died earlier or did not come to his aid, and most importantly Berthier was not there to help him.
Ye, Marengo was such a big choke as well, the Austrians grew too complacent and were not prepared for Desaix's arrival, the Consular guard came in clutch in the retreat fr.
How is a global superpower losing to half a third world country anything less than a choke
Vietnam was kinda inform tho no? They fought off the Japanese, beat the French too
But they had to, the German economy was based off of plundering gold from countries they invaded
Another big choke is the 7 years war, where y'know, the Russians make very very favourable peace terms with the Prussians because the new Emperor was a big fan of Frederick the Great. Berlin was besieged atp.
