Controversy on VCT BR open qualifiers

Some teams are not letting Riot casters to transmit their games on the open qualify for "tactical reasons".

It begun with one not allowing and then the rest went "oh if they don't want their tactics to leak, then I don't want as well", even tho the casters can transmit whatever the fuck they want without asking for permission.

? they should just make it a requirement for the matches to be casted and streamed otherwise they can't play

The rulebook states that, if a caster wants to stream they just get in on the lobby and streams, and the teams can't do shit about it, but most of the teams "ask" the casters to not stream it and it depends on the caster's good will (and they usually don't transmit because of that)

in my opinion a team that won't allow streamers/casters to cast/stream their games for "tactical reasons", taking this means they dont want strats leaked, is a pretty weak ass team, not being able to just come up with new and innovative ways to keep surprising the scene

hence; meant to not fucking qualify

big L

one thing is comms, which i get they just might not want to share, but as far as the game goes out, they can just shut the fuck up

what you say is true but they have a point aswell the same can be observed for the likes of Gambit they stomped on all teams in Masters3 and no on could figure them out during the tourney but when Champions came out almost all teams had some sort of antistarts etc so no matter how high or low levels the teams are it does matter

yeah well but all of those games got streamed afaik;

i remember they talked about scrims, where they said gambit was owning literally everyone, scrimming is one thing, official competitive games is another

I hope that all the teams that are not letting it be transmitted don't make it through the qualifier, it will be great to see them saving tactics for the next qualifier in 2 months.

if they qualify for vct do u think they'll ask riot not to stream the official games to get a chance to go through to the finals?
sheesh, god strats

200 IQ = getting eliminated to save strats (SEN)
450 IQ = using glitched cameras to save the real strats (VK)
999 IQ = asking not to stream the games until the semifinals to save strats (whoever tries this)

If they had that option they would probably say they didn't want to have their games broadcast lmao HAHA. I think this is disrespectful to the fans who are the main reason why they are there playing professionally, and if a team has no confidence in their preparation to be afraid to reveal all their strategy against TEAMS OF MAKERS AND CARTERS IN A OPEN QUALIFIER WHICH TO PASS THE PHASE YOU ONLY NEED TO PLAY 3~4 MD3 AND THIS QUANTITY OF GAMES DOES NOT ALREADY REVEAL ANYTHING, this already shows total distrust on the part of the team.

All teams in BR open qual will be splitted into two parts

In LOUD semibracket, and in non-LOUD semibracket

Those who are with LOUD shouldn't be afraid of streaming, as they're not advancing anyway

Who are they afraid of

BR closed qual is filled with tier3 teams

And don't tell me MIBR / NiP will be good, I saw their rosters, nothing special, MIBR even signed gtn for some reason

Nah, sacy posted on twitter they don't want streams because other teams don't want it either, so if the rest won't do it they won't as well

For me, the point is if you have a choice between having your strats revealed or not, you would always choose the later. Regardless how good you are

kinda dissapointed of them, im rooting for LOUD since they were formed because of sacy but this mentality is not a champion mentality

lmao what kind of mentality is that. they are pro players of course they are gonna study each other. they are so weird. should not be a pro player just play rank game.

The thing is that the casters themselves created a shitty situation for them. According to Riot rulebook, casters can spectate any match of the open qualifiers, but for, perhaps ethical reasons, they ask the team if its ok for them to transmit the match. Many teams have said for obvious reasons that they didnt want to have their matches shown. Now they are in a shitty position because they want to show the matches, but dont want to go against players wishes, even though they have the right to do so

Have the quals even started yet. I heard the host site was down.

The controversy started before the quals. Then, after shit was all over, the quals would start and gamers club was down
