China's problem

There are too many teams competing for the same player pool.
In pacific, you have 5 korean teams, 2 japanese, 1 thai, 1 indo, the rest is mix
In americas, you have 7 NA teams, 2 latam, rest is mix/br
Emea is 3-4 turkish teams, rest mix
In china all 12 teams are chinese

All of these 12 teams have to get players from the same pool, which overall limits the regions ceiling unless someone manages to make a superteam, which is really hard. Now this whole argument falls short if they have a significantly bigger player base than other regions, which is possible for china but I don't have the numbers, so I will throw this idea out there

Truth be told, it's a pretty complicated issue. China has a huge population, but there's a strict rule: you have to be 18 to play in any tournaments. That already cuts out a lot of potential talent. On top of that, in traditional Chinese culture, esports isn't really seen as a 'great career,' which deters even more people. Also, Chinese universities only allow a two-year leave of absence; after that, you have to go back to school. That rules out another batch of aspiring pros.
Moreover, there are issues with the long-term development of China's esports industry. Retired players often can't transition into roles like coaches, analysts, or casters. And if they try streaming, many just aren't cut out for it. A lot of them end up just being 'high schoolers who are good at video games.' With only a high school diploma, finding a job in China is still really tough.
