genuinely one of the most baffling decisions ive ever seen, if they just left it alone and moved on with the tournament nobody would have ever had thought to look the other way. all this so we could get nrg vs prx instead of the two best matchups possible
fuck riot

"how dare they recognize they made a mistake." like bruh

teams have less than 24 hours to prepare for these games already, and redrawing wasted 5 hours of that limited time. at some point you have to just roll with the punches, especially when none of the coaches are happy with the decision

theyll complain no matter what. I'd prefer "we have 5 less hours of prep" excuse to the "i wasnt even supposed to play this team I just lost against because riot rigged the draw" excuse.

They messed up by messing up the draw, but they're response is fine. Situation sucks, but what can you do

none of the teams were aware there was an issue with the draw lol. if leo faria decided to never acknowledge it there would be no excuses. and also both excuses can apply there, 5 hours less prep + teams Weren't supposed to play the current matchups to their initial knowledge. i just know you're going to pull out both excuses if nrg loses this game

tf you mean? you think I'd rather face PRX than Liquid? This is the worse scenario for me as an NRG fan, but I recognize that if you mess up the draw and it wasnt truly random, you need to fix it.

I dont like the world where RIOT messes up then ignores it. That's it.

If you lose to PRX:
"we had 5 hours less prep" "we were supposed to play TL instead"
If you lose to TL: nothing, they were better today

so you want riot to rig the match and say nothing? like bro, what?

Sure, if Riot recognized their mistake, refused to acknowledge it, and then let the games play out, nobody would complain, but that'd be fucked up. If they recognized their mistake, announced it, and then kept the same draw, there would be similar outrage. Before or after the match.

Maybe you'd get the least complaints if they covered it up, but that'd be against the competitive integrity of the esport.

Surely you can understand the argument without attacking me with excuses I've already said I'm not using. I don't care about the results of the matches, I care that the draw was fair, and I think 5 less hours of prep is a better alternative than a rigged draw.

the matchups as they were were not rigged, sure they were chosen, but they were still fair draws. no team had advantages in any regard
i guess i can understand from a company standpoint, but again, there wasn't anything inherently wrong with the initial matchups. and mistakes like this when time is so important already creates a lot of animosity
i think they should've just consulted coaches and then majority rules. after all, the time is more important to them than anyone

on paper, the coaches that are favored could just say to keep the matches, and the ones that arent would say no. even if that doesn't happen in this reality, if something like that did happen, it could get pretty messy. much messier than if they just redrew and people were a bit mad over 5 less hours. riot have to put their foot down and choose something in that situation.

They should've acknowledged the mistake but let the matchups first draw continue for the sake of game integrity cuz now you've fucked all the teams

I understand why they think they have to change it but surely you just get all the coaches to agree that the existing draw is fine?

100%. from the looks on twitter none of the teams were happy (NRG, PRX, and G2 coaches replied negatively. lohan also replied but im sure he was not happy about it)

When I saw the draw, I knew that there was a mistake since they usually do one team per match before giving their pairing. It sucks that we couldn't get Marteen vs F0rsaken as well as Keiko facing off against his old team. The storylines would have been way more interesting than what we currently got on the redraw.
