redrawing is LESS fair btw

i see some people complaining about the new matchups and prep time, but conceding that the redraw is more fair. here’s why it is not:

• the original draw was perfectly random, if the host did it on accident
• leo had three different choices on how to do the redraw: completely new draw, don’t redraw but shuffle the teams, and redraw starting from the point it was messed up
• the decision between these three was made non-randomly and behind the scenes
• they actively decided to redraw in the first place, a decision that happened after seeing the matchups

basically they looked at the current matchups, considered the new matchups if they shuffled the teams, and then decided to have a shot at some other matchups instead

There was nothing wrong with the original draw, it was perfectly random

The only problem was it wasn’t in the order Riot wanted it

Santiago draw show did not follow that specific order

They had to redraw because they failed to rig the first draw, they don’t actually care about fairness

I think some team complained about the draw with therulebook in hand. There is nothing much they can do.
I don't want to accuse the host, but there is still the possibility that it wasn't unintentional. The redraws are unfortunate, but absolutely fair.

Absolutely agree. I wouldn't say they necessarily looked at the matchup to decide what to do, but the fact is that they could have. They had a perfectly random draw: the host also said something along the lines of "and now we'll draw their opponent" before the second team was drawn too, no ambiguity there. Now we went from random legitimate draw to Riot deciding to have a second draw by a non-random factor.

Once the balls were pulled randomly, that should’ve been it. The redraw just complicated things.

Also someone told me that the original idea was to put the first pick against the third one, was that right? That doesn't even make sense mathematically since there's only 4 teams, who's the braindead at Riot behind these? The first draw was literally perfect.
