Not granting stream perms to smaller streamers is braindead. Why would I want to sit in main chat and read the same spam messages over and over or join some big streamers chat just for it to be spam as well? Smaller streamers have more chat engagement and obv are not as much of a massive weight on RIOT's main stream viewer numbers. Someone explain to me how this makes the overall product of VCT better or how this leads to more viewership and engagement? This is like my 20th RIOT wtf are you stupid post in the last year someone pls brim ult RIOT hq

It makes rito more money in the long run and gives more exposure to VCT

how more exposure? It is def less exposure cause less total eyes, more streamers mean more people and more meaningful interactions with the game.

Because some streamers could try and abuse it

I mean its a business at the end of the day and giving perms to only those who will bring in the most viewership guarantees them bringing in even more viewership

I thought you only need to fill an application after that you are free to stream the events is it not?

They could use the boosted viewership to make lies that could be spread about players.

Ok so you invite the top 30 or whatever number of streamers that you want to boost viewership. Is your argument that RIOT will increase viewership by not including smaller streamers? That simply isn't true, casting a wide net and letting all streamers, barring the tiny amount that are brand risks/abusive/etc, only adds more positive viewership. Not to mention my other point being that smaller streamers offer a more personalized back and forth with their communities than the big streamers. I can join Tarik's chat and be one of the 60k people spamming dwerk or I can join a smaller streamer I like and actually have insight and interaction about the game. For those that like the spam chats like Tarik, FNS, Shanks that is fine but why not allow both types to co-stream?

It comes down to RIOT approval and for this one they were more stingy

I mean this respectfully but that is a load of nonsense and a complete non-issue. Bad apples are bad apples, but what I am talking about people who have had perms for several other events already and got denied for this one for no apparent reason.
