The whole idea of letting Aspas run the roster and bench whoever he feels like was driven way more by ego than by actual competitive quality.
There’s just no logical explanation for dropping CORTEZIA to bring in TEX. Modern Valorant is built on consistency above everything else, and even on his worst day, Cortezia would give you more stability and impact than Tex on his absolute best.
Aspas talked about the “vibe” Tex brings to the team as if he were some kind of bard, but with all due respect, he could be Jim Carry in person and it still wouldn’t be worth the suffering of having him playing Valorant by his side.
And now we’re seeing the consequences. Suddenly people are calling them overrated, saying they were never a super team to begin with. That’s absurd. Any lineup featuring Aspas, zekken, and Verno automatically has super team potential because of this cone on the map.
Aspas, zekken or Verno can’t afford to have a series below their level because they know they already play with one less on the team. It makes you want to cry to see his screen playing this game.
