EG earns revenge on ENVY, eliminates updated roster

Starting on Pearl, ENVY ran a double-Duelist with Neon and Yoru, moving new acquisition Demon1 to Astra, which he has played before on EG. The other squad, EG, ran double-Duelist with Waylay and Yoru, and dgzin on Yoru won EG the first pistol round. When EG converted the bonus round with three players alive, that already put pressure on the new look ENVY roster. The EG defense was stalwart, as it took until round six for ENVY to win its first round. Up to this point, it was very one-sided, but keznit started to pull ENVY back to a respectable half after going down 5-0. EG managed to pull together some round wins at the end of the defense half, entering halftime up 8-4.

EG won the second half pistol with three kills from bao , as ENVY lost an aggressive defense round. Reaching double-digits, EG converted a bonus round that ENVY seemed to be comfortable in winning.

That could have been the end of the map for ENVY, but then Eggsterr and Demon1 started to step up to cut the lead from 11-4 to an 11-11 tie. EG forced the map to OT, and a Rossy ace was not enough as EG won soon after 16-14.

Corrode was next up, with Demon1 moving to Viper as ENVY and EG ran near-mirror comps with the Initiator choice as the only difference. ENVY won a flawless pistol, but was unable to convert the bonus as dgzin nearly aced. Soon after, supamen matched with four kills by dropping out of B heaven, extending the early EG lead. Just as supamen started to slow down, dgz picked the half up as EG entered halftime up 8-4 for the second time in the series.

EG won the second pistol as the team reached double digits soon after halftime. It was the last call for ENVY at Kickoff, and the new roster struggled out of the gate as EG won Corrode 13-5 and the series 2-0.

LEVIATÁN outsmarts Sentinels in 2-0 sweep

This game between Sentinels and LEV was a lower-bracket matchup of retooled organizations with international success trying to avoid elimination.

Corrode started with LEV running a Waylay and Chamber comp, while Sentinels ran double-Duelist as N4RRATE moved to Neon instead of Waylay. LEV won the first pistol off of four kills from blowz , but N4RRATE won the eco round after to shift the momentum. Sentinels took an early lead, but LEV fought back thanks to kiNgg earning an ace to take a 7-5 lead at the half.

Sentinels won the second pistol to tie up the game at 7-7, but LEV prevented the bonus round win. Then, LEV ran away with the rest of the half, off of some amazing waylay play from Sato . Some thriftys and some undermanned rounds ended the map in a 13-10 LEV win.

Bind was next, with Sentinels running Waylay and Chamber while LEV stuck to double-Duelist with Yoru and Waylay. Sentinels won the first pistol, but was unable to convert the bonus. LEV fought back quickly to take the lead on Bind, with kiNgg staying hot. Neon got the Operator in his hands and started cooking Sentinels alive, as LEV led the half 8-4.

After winning the second pistol on the second map, Sentinels converted the bonus and looked inspired. Taking the lead back at 9-8, it took until map point for Sentinels to lose its first defense round. LEV showed resilience to take the map to overtime, with some outstanding defaults leading to player advantages. Then, in overtime, LEV was near perfect as the team won 14-12 and eliminated Sentinels from Kickoff.
