It's the league esports disease. Basically winning champs means you are the best player or team of the year even if you were shit majority of the year. Both are riot games so makes sense there is overlap of fanbase. Lot of recency bias too.

You guys are not ready to have this conversation, but winning is much more important than coming second. If any of these awards go to Fnatic, these titles will instantly lose their prestige. I mean, what’s the point of winning CHAMPS if you’re not recognized as the best? Ethan beat Boaster not once, but twice, and Ethan was the one who literally carried them in the last map. All three maps that NRG won were pure domination: 13–3, 13–6, and 13–5. Boaster was nowhere near had that level of impact at any point in his entire career.
so coming 2nd is considered better than winning the most prestigious title? so why even built a team to win just come 2nd every time and ppl will call you the best
Are you dumb, stupid or biased? These awards were for the YEAR, not for a few months at the end of the year - NRG were absent for most of it. Saying Boaster has never had anywhere near that level of impact is the most insane self report I've ever heard
Okay, name one map where Boaster had the same level of impact as Ethan—and this isn’t just about calling, but also about kills, especially while playing Breach. Ethan didn’t just out-call Boaster; he destroyed Fnatic on Sunset.
And for the rest of the year, Fnatic choked against TH, even after dominating them on two maps. They threw a 9–3 lead while being up 2–1. So tell me again: why does Boaster deserve an IGL award and not a “choking” award?
Sorry, your point is that Ethan had more kills on one map while on Breach than Boaster has? Yeah no fucking shit, might as well give him Initiator MVP award too then, quite clearly reverting to kills because its something you can pinpoint on a stats page and say look my IGL is better than yours when that's just not how it works and never has
did u read what i said? my point was not just fragging it was fragging while calling and the reason i said breach is because, you don't get the same opportunity as a duelist to engage in combats so its quite impressive that a support agent had that level of impact while calling
Yeah I forgot Boaster was on Duelist.. The calling style is wildly different, Boaster literally does almost every strat and counter while Bonkar practically does everything for Ethan beforehand. You can say one is more effective than the other if you want but you still need to accept that's how it is, it's much easier to frag when you're not thinking of everything. Any comms video I ever watched s0m was the one talking the whole time anyway so idk how crazy his calling is. Not to disrespect him, I do think he is GOOD and I actually agree NRG played better at Champs and deserve the win; but again this is for the year, and NRG didn't win either stage or even go to a Masters so it's wild to have that take for showing up at one event.
so your saying fnc does everything on the fly and they don't have any strats beforehand? like boaster gets no help from crashies and chronicle? all of them are just mute? they don't help boaster mid round? boaster does everything everytime every round?
well people only care abt result hence winning something is better than coming 2nd hence nrg sweeped the awards
