Why do orgs (Especially low tier ones) invest in academy teams. It seems like they just have to pay a salary for teams that wont bring in much revenue.

VRL is a thing now and if it gets spread to other regions then having Academy teams would make sense. Also you get to groom a player from the ground up for the main team and what it needs , there's no need to buyout someone from other orgs
Sponsorships, Just having the team compete with the logos on the jerseys makes them hella bank.
