brazil suffered under a slavery regime for almost 400 years. throughout this history, black people were called monkeys as a way to dehumanize and offend them. since then, it has been an extremely racist term in our country that carries this sad history.

- i still believe that some brazillians are overreacting over legit nothing
they're jumping to conclusions, and tbf I don't judge them, people from all around the world have a habit to look down on "third-world countries" like most of the Latin American countries

foyth, brazilian twitter is like this, that kind of reaction is basically standard. the other day a girl got insane hate even got doxxed, all because she followed some sketchy accounts with naz* symbols.
i get people thinking its weird, asking questions whatever. but dude, everyone’s followed accounts without checking the profile. its totally possible she did it without paying attention.
the issue is they turned a possibility (“she might agree with those accounts”) into a certainty (“she does agree”).
and that jump in logic is exactly how brazilian twitter operates.
